Start-up draft

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Start-up draft

Postby Fatmike007 » Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:53 pm

I have the 1.02 pick in a 1 QB 10 team start-up draft. 98% sure Jefferson is gonna go #1. Am I crazy for thinking of going MHJ at #2? Being safe would be going Chase. Take the proven or take a shot?

All depends on your strategy my friend. Are you going for win now, all rookies or a balance? You can’t dip your toe in the win now deep end. If you want to go future then draft rookies. 1QB means you should go heavy on WR and sprinkle in RB and TE.
Team 1
Dynasty 10 team, 22 roster + 6 Taxi, PPR
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex, 1 TE, K, Def

QB: Love, Goff, Fields
RB: Bijan, Montgomery, Kamara, Ford, K Herbert, Zeke, Mattison
WR: Jefferson, Olave, London, Ridley, Sutton, Shaheed
TE: Kincaid, Kittle, Freiermuth
K: Tucker, Sanders
DEF: CLE

Taxi: Charbs, K Mitchell, Demercado, QJ, D Douglas, W Robinson, Hooker

Picks
2024: 1.03, 3.06, 3.09, 4.09
2025: 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5
2026: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Team 2
Dynasty 10 team, 22 man roster + 6 Taxi, PPR, SF and TEP
1QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 S Flex

QB: Allen, Goff, Watson, Jones
RB: K Williams, B Robinson, Chubb, Ford, Mostert, A Gibson, Dillon, Pierce, Zeke
WR: Olave, T Hill, Addison, D Adams, C Watson, D Johnson, G Davis, OBJ
TE: Kincaid, Kmet, Goedert

Taxi: Mitchell, DTR, Mims, K Miller, Douglas, Vaughn

Picks
2024: 1.08, 3.02, 3.09
2025: 1, 3, 4, 5
2026: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5

Chase or lamb for me, I’d try and trade down to at least 4 if you want Harrison. What are the starting positions?

Need more data. Is this PPR, 0.5 PPR, line-up requirements?

Feel like I went to old in my first start up draft a few years ago. Trying for balance. It's not do or die winning the first year.
Thanks for the comment and good luck this year.

You are right with Chase or Lamb. Maybe a trade down is the way to go.

Thanks. Was double checking if Bijan should be in consideration at 1.02 - answer is no!

Chase, Lamb or trade down as Mtt33 recommends.

Love MHJR but it's a big reach at 1.02. I'd argue JJ, Chase, Lamb and ARSB are all above him. At best he's WR6 (and that's really aggressive ranking). Also it's possible some folks would have Bijan and Hall over him.

I can see not wanting a RB (I wouldn't). IMO - trade down to 1.04 or 1.05 and be happy if someone reaches on MHJR ahead of you.

Thanks man. Sometimes I just need to have other people tell me to chill out😂. Good luck this year.
