Kendre & Russ or 2025 1st (late)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kendre & Russ or 2025 1st (late)

Postby Nflnz » Fri Apr 12, 2024 6:20 pm

I’m trying to gauge the value of Kendre Miller who I’m my opinion is talented and has a chance to be a solid dynasty asset this season.

Would you trade Kendre & Russ Wilson, for a 2025 1st that is projected late?

I ask the question, as the 2025 1st will likely be used to pick a RB so on paper looks great, but could be an equivalent of Kendre.

How many teams? Superflex?

I took Kendre at the very end of the 1st round in a 16 team last season, and don't regret it yet. So it'd depend for me... I'd lean no. If Wilson produces early in PIT, he'd be worth a late 1st or early 2nd on his own.

Ok so you are right, assuming the 2025 is late you at best will get an equivalent for Miller. This means Russ is a bonus to the other owner. I personally think that Russ will lose his job to Fields and Kendre will still be stuck behind Kamara for at least another year.

I don’t see much risk in making the deal assuming you are ok at QB, but I think you could get the other owner to throw in something else for getting a starting QB in SF. Maybe a pick swap or a future 2nd? Nothing that should be a deal breaker but a little more added

This seems right to me. Kendres draft capital says he should be their back in 2025, maybe even this year if they cut Kamara for cap reasons. If they do cut Kamara instead of reworking his contract this deal would be pulled immediately.

I agree w/ Troll - see if you can get something added. Wilson is still valuable in SF.

But do the deal somehow. I'd rather be holding the first regardless of whether I'm a contender or not. If I'm not a contender, I'd hold it until next season. If I am a contender, it can be used in-season to add an impact player for a playoff run if needed. Kendre might help you make that push, but the pick for sure will. Somebody will decide to rebuild and sell you a player that will outproduce Kendre in '24.

I took Miller either late 1st or early 2nd whenever I could thinking the samething... he'll replace Karama as best he can. But I do get a little jumpy when rookie RBs aren't given many touches doing their 1st season, it means the coaches aren't seeing anything special. Miller finally tore it up week 18, it was basically his showcase. if your planning on him taking the reigns in 2025 then you have to survive 2 rookie draft where the Saints do not spend much on RBs which is really risky.
If you can package him for a 1st ever in 2025 I would do it.

^This. I think Wilson at best is worth two 2nds. I don't think you're likely to get a 1st for him. And though Miller intrigues me, I'm find using him as the additional chip to lock in the only premium value asset here (the 2025 1st). Obviously, if you can get a throw-in (a 3rd?), great! But I'm not passing on this deal if this is the final offer.

Also, and we read/hear/say this all the time: where a person was drafted last year is now irrelevant.
