Etienne plus ? to get Gibbs

12 man league, PPR, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 flex (non QB). Not TEP.

Current team:
QB: Stroud, Minshew
RB: Bijan, Etienne, Spears, Hubbard, Z White, Abanikanda
WR: Lamb, Nacua, Olave, D Smith, Shakir, Iosivas, Burks, T Palmer
TE: Laporta, Ferguson
2024 picks: 1.01, 1.02, 1.04, 3.01
2025 picks: 2 1sts

I will likely be picking MHJ, Nabers and TBD at 1.04. My WRs will be solid, but in this league format, I'd really like to upgrade at RB. Hall is not available for trade. Gibbs would be my next top choice. I don't have a ton of faith in Etienne and would love to upgrade to Gibbs. Unfortunately, the other owner isn't going to move Gibbs unless it's a clear overpay. His other RBs are Pollard, Walker and Javonte. He's got Chase, G Wilson, Aiyuk and Jeudy at WR. His QBs are horrible. So, it's tough to see him accepting a trade of Etienne plus a WR where I also don't feel like i'm getting ripped off. I've considered Etienne + 1.04 for Gibbs. Or trading back from 1.04 a bit to get some kind of return and then offering that pick to let him get a top QB. Any thoughts? I know my RBs aren't bad, but not sure if I have the horses to win a league.

ETN + 1.04 in 1QB is a solid offer. I think it's fine on value but not how I like to build teams. Gibbs is a top-3 dynasty RB so that will cost ya. I almost never have those type of guys on my teams. (Although I somehow ended up with Hall in my SC league).

im not too into paying 1.04 and etn for gibbs. etn is a first round rb himself. 1.04 is te1 or wr4, both likely top 16ish nfl draft picks. seems like a steep price just for the feel good of a different rb

There is something to be said about getting your guy but there is a certain other RB in DET that should keep ya worried. It’s comparible to the Achane/Mostert argument in MIA.

With the starting requirements in that league, I'm fine with a slight overpay to get your guy. A total of 5 OPs not named Stroud and LaPorta. Bijan, Lamb, Nacua, and Olave (or Smith or MHJr or Nabers). Why not overpay for a stud at RB2. Maybe ask for a 2nd back, and move that 2nd and 3.01 for a veteran (read old) RB or QB2 upgrade and sit back and relax.
