Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
12 team SF TEP PPR Full IDP, start 11 offense/ 11 IDP weekly.
This league started in June 2022, and I have been in rebuild from the start.
Finished in 12th in 2022, but picked up three 23 1sts, two 2nds, two 3rds, two 4ths.
Then I doubled down on the rebuild in 2023 and sold most of my 2023 picks: Bijan, JSN, Kincaid, Levis, Charbonnet, Mingo, as well as other pieces like Dotson and Pickens.
Turned them into nine 1sts over 2024 and 2025, three 2nds, five 3rds, etc.
Finished 12th again in 2023.
So now I have picks 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.08, 1.12, 2.05, 3.01, 3.04, 3.09, 3.12, and 4.01 in a 6 round draft (IDP).
Now, according to Dynasty Daddy, my QB room is #1 in the league, WR is #11, RB is #12, and TE is #2 in league.
QB's: Herbert, TLaw, D. Watson, Pickett, Z. Wilson + more
RB's: Gainwell, Michael Carter, Bigsby, Spiller, Haskins, Davis-Price (all garbage)
WR's: London, Burks, Jameson, Rashid Shaheed, Rondale and Skyy Moore, Tolbert, David Bell (can start up to 6 WR's)
TE's: Pitts, Musgrave, Kraft
My roster is all very young, including IDP where my top pieces are: Aidan Hutchinson, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Will Anderson Jr., Ernest Jones, Kyle Hamilton, etc. Justin Herbert is the oldest dude on my roster.
So, after making a couple moves to lock up 3 top 4 picks, I am considering drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze at 1.02/1.03/1.04.
This would give my WR room a HUGE shot of adrenaline. I might go with Maye at 1.04 if he lands with the Vikings.
At 1.08, I probably go McCarthy or Brian Thomas Jr. depending on landing spots and what I do at 1.04.
QB's are almost impossible to sell in this league, so no way I take 2 of them.
Looking for Troy Franklin or Adonai Mitchell at 1.12.
Rest of the picks I will go with the flow, maybe grab a couple RB's, but will worry about RB in 2025, when the RB class is supposed to be better, and I have four 1sts and two 2nds.
Thoughts? Would it be nuts to go MHJ/Nabers/Odunze?
I feel like I have more confidence in those 3 WR's than I have in the top 3 QB's.
I also have more of a need at WR than I do at QB.
Thinking this team could compete by 2025, if all goes well.

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
I'm onboard with going WR-WR but then think you gotta go QB. Watson could be in a Russel Wilson boat as early as next year. I'm sky high on Lawrence, but even I will be concerned if he doesn't take a step this year. You can never have too many quality QBs. I'm low on McCarthy so this influences my recommendation. Would rather Daniels or Maye and Thomas than Odunze and McCarthy personally. This is even more true if you end up going WR again at 1.12.
I'd at least leave open the possibility of going RB at 1.12 if Brooks or Benson end up in prime spots, and would definitely take multiple RB shots (Brooks, Benson, Wright) in the early 2nd. Guys aren't elite, but plenty of WRs bust and despite the depth of this class none of the profiles are squeaky clean at that stage of the draft.

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
Your strategy is fine. But I'd be open to adjusting it based on landing spots/draft capital. Just a few thoughts for consideration:
CW - I'm assuming based on your post that you are fairly sure CW is going 1.01. If the 1.01 ends up as a WR, I'm for sure taking CW.
Bowers - You mention this is a TEP league. If (and only if) Bowers lands well, he's worth consideration in the top-4. In 0.5 TEP 6 of the top-24 pass catchers were TEs last year. Even a light TEP makes TE attractive at flex and it sounds like this league has deep starting requirements. I have no interest in Bowers at this price in non-TEP. I'm probably still going WR3 or QB in TEP, but it's worth spending a few cycles considering Bowers.
Sell some picks - I love that you acquired all these picks and bet they have risen in value (and will continue to). During the draft I'm probably putting some late 1sts/early 2nds on the block to see what kind of offers I get. You're going to have plenty of exposure to this rookie class, rookie fever will be in full swing, and people will be frustrated that they aren't participating in the early part of the draft (because you have most of the picks). It's a recipe for you to get a great return. If you don't like the offers, reject them and pick.
WR3 vs. QB - If you end up taking two WRs, it's hard not to consider a QB with the 1.04. In the right situation, Jayden Daniels looks to have the profile of a QB that could be very valuable for FF. Honestly I could see why some folks might prefer him to CW. Higher risk, higher potential reward. You can't have too many QBs in SF. But I know trades can be hard to pull off in some leagues. FWIW - I have the 1.01/1.05 in a league where I hold Murray/Tua/Carr/etc. and I'll likely be taking CW at 1.01. MHJR would be a day one starter for me, but I'll pass on that for the QB value.

Yes it would be crazy. Crazy good. You are solid at QB and TE. This completes the WR room with elite prospects and your 25 1st should net you your running backs in what looks like to be a good class for RB's in 2025.

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
I'd go WR+WR+QB. This is still SF and while the sum of your three QBs is good, I'd prefer to have one undisputed stud among them. You can shoot for that stud with one of your early '24 picks.

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
I love it, but i would probably look to trade down to accumulate more.. I would imagine there are some folks with picks right after that are in need of a QB.. make them put their money where their mouth is a allude that you are going to dominate the QB Market.. Even if they are throwing in some 2nds you would prob still end up with those same WRs..

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
Assuming they all get the draft capital we expect, they are all elite prospects coming out. Not crazy at all.

Not crazy but if you are going WR3 at 1.04 I’d probably trade down a spot or two

And if one of the top 3 do go to Chicago I think they’ll be cheaper in season than now, as they’re 3 behind Allen and DJ. Could be a buy low opp

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
We're all hyped on these guys and for good reason. Typically, talent wins out. That said, I think we'll see a couple of less than stellar landing spots, as we always do, that will change the order we value these guys. I would say that starting at 1.04, who the masses slot into those picks will probably change between now and May.

Re: Would drafting MHJ/Nabers/Odunze be crazy?
Wouldn't be crazy from a talent/BPA perspective. But I'm not sure it's the best idea from a team building perspective.
I'd likely entertain grabbing a QB with one of those picks depending on how the draft shakes out. If you were able to grab a rookie QB who hits, you'd likely be able to flip Watson for players/picks and get out from him if he's playing well. And improve your QB room in the process.
