Valuing the Packers WR trio?
Valuing the Packers WR trio?
How would you guys rank Reed, Wicks and Watson and what do you think their trade pick value in 1 QB should be?
This is a very intriguing group in what now looks to be an explosive offense under Love. Wicks has been an offseason data darling, Watson has a ton of potential and Reed had one hell of a rookie season.

Literally no idea which comes out on top. Have 1 or more on most of my teams and hoping it works out.

Ya pretty clear in this order for me. Wicks might have the better floor than Watson at this point but his upside still has him 2 on the list for me.

Each get 800 and 5
Re: Valuing the Packers WR trio?
It was an interesting spread of yards last year for the Packers. NINE players with > 200 yards, most of whom are expected to be on the roster again in 2024.
An interesting question I would have for the 2024 Packers: Is that sustainable?
Meaning, can a team throw for > 4,000 yards in consecutive seasons, without any 1 player exceeding say 800 yards?
I wouldn't know how to check for such a thing on PFF, nor am I a paid subscriber. (Maybe someone like DD can help?) But I'd have to think consecutive 4,000 yard seasons by a QB would USUALLY contain some sort of stand out guy?
That's a long winded way of saying: All these Packers WRs have a lot to like as is. If one of them can "pop off", that would be really cool and the trick will be guessing which one does it, if any.
My bet would be Reed FWIW, if I had to pick one. But I think it is within the realm of possibility, as SG posted above, that multiple players end up in a cluster that might make this WR room perhaps better suited for best ball type leagues.
It will be fun to watch either way!

Re: Valuing the Packers WR trio?
Id say without injuries no way. 2-3 WRs are going to see more snaps so it’s virtually impossible to spread it THAT equally amongst 3-4 even with a te getting an equal chunk.Paul717 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 7:45 amIt was an interesting spread of yards last year for the Packers. Re: Valuing the Packers WR trio?
If I'm forced to choose one, it has to be Watson. Every other WR was available for nearly every game. Watson was the only one that had injury/missed games as a limitation. If Watson plays at least 15 games, he's easily my bet to lead GB in targets, receptions, yards and TDs.

Re: Valuing the Packers WR trio?
I wrote out a ton of team situations in my rookie wr report thread and I wrote down the top receivers for each team and also wrote down how many team passing yards (not for every team but I was going over the team situations of players who became a stud even though they had less than 47ypg as a rookie). You can go through the thread or I’ll try to check and see. It will be annoying to find but the info is in the thread somewherePaul717 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 7:45 amIt was an interesting spread of yards last year for the Packers. Edit. Here is some viewtopic.php?p=2221859#p2221859
I feel like i remember charting many more but can’t find it. Maybe it’s on my PC somewhere, I’ll check later.
edit edit: looked on pc, the one below is the only example i could find of a nearly 4k yard passer with less than 1k yard receivers.

Laveranues Coles
3rd round draft pick
13 games played, 3 games started
28.5 ypg
3924 Passing Yards
Vinny Testaverde 590 attempts [14th year]
Ray Lucas 41 attempts [5th year]
1471 Rushing Yards
Curtis Martin 1204 rushing yards
3924 Receiving Yards
Wayne Chrebet 937 receiving yards
Richie Anderson (FB) 853 receiving yards
Dedric Ward 801 receiving yards

recent startup i was in (12tm sf 3wr 3 flex spots +sf) he went 6.03 which i thought was a bit aggressive as i liked many of the names after him (bryce, pickens, KW3, mccarthy, brian thomas, barkley, deebo, swift, terry, javonte, baker, kirk, etc)
people valuing him over kenneth walker or most top rookie wrs not named nabers or harrison is kinda wild to me when last we saw he wasnt getting heavy snaps or usage.
