Apart from 1.01 and 1.09, the only other picks they have in this draft are a 3rd and a 4th.
They simply have too many holes still to only bring in 4 players. I would expect at least a small trade back at 9.

There was a poll in a Bears board about who they get at 1.09. Top vote so far is trade down, second was Odunze.mild wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 8:05 pmTrading back is very likely, even if Wicker won't like it.TheTroll wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 5:31 amVery true. 1.09 is a luxury pick at this point. If all three WR are gone, as well as Alt/Fashanu and Turner/Verse, I could see them trade down. I'd like to see them take a Blue Chip player though. DJM and Allen are great but Allen is getting old and the rest of our WRs are pretty bad. BUT I will say this is a very deep WR class (I've been working hard to get as many shares as I can for WRs this year).

Sure, BPA when you're picking that high is logical, but you still want someone who can make an immediate impact when you draft that high. Odunze is not doing anything behind Moore and Allen going forward. Plus, there's already rumors about them extending Allen, which likely helped get the deal done to begin with.
Surely there are other holes on the team that can put a rookie in immediate position for positive contributions. There will be other WRs in other drafts.

I still see edge rusher at number 9. Could go tackle if you want to toss in the towel on Braxton. With the Allen deal, I see wr as the 3rd option.

Allen isn't getting any younger. And we have no depth after DJM/Allen. I'd love Odunze at 1.09. So, after the top three WR, I think they look at Blue Chip LT (Alt/Oshanu) or DE (Turner/Verse). If those are ALL gone, trade down.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 6:45 amGranted, maybe there's something I'm missing about the Bears, but I have no idea why their fans still want to draft another WR at 9 after the Allen trade.mild wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 8:05 pmTrading back is very likely, even if Wicker won't like it.

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread
Unless you believe only 1 QB is getting drafted early, it’s impossible for all those guys to be gone by 1.09. You’re making a good case for a trade down makes sense…when any of those guys help you and you only have 4 draft picks. Trade down, get more picks, possibly still get one of those guys.wickerkat1212 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 1:43 pmAllen isn't getting any younger. And we have no depth after DJM/Allen. They simply have too many holes still to only bring in 4 players. I would expect at least a small trade back at 9.
And that’s still ignoring Fuaga and Bowers.

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread
Plus four QBs going in the first eight picks, too. I want Blue Chip. If we trade down it can't be much farther. And I think if Odunze is there you take him.frerichs5 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 2:11 pmUnless you believe only 1 QB is getting drafted early, it’s impossible for all those guys to be gone by 1.09. I'd love Odunze at 1.09. So, after the top three WR, I think they look at Blue Chip LT (Alt/Oshanu) or DE (Turner/Verse). If those are ALL gone, trade down.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 6:45 am
Granted, maybe there's something I'm missing about the Bears, but I have no idea why their fans still want to draft another WR at 9 after the Allen trade.

Williams, Maye, Daniels, JJM
Harrison, Nabers, Odunze
Alt, Fashanu, Fuaga
Turner, Verse
Bowers
Yes that gets you to 13, but it also depends on who the BEARS think should be taken. They may be big on the top three WR, two DE and two LT and if they are gone, it's next tier. IDK. If Odunze is there, I want them to take him. If not, I'd be okay moving back a FEW spots. IDK how they have their tiers/rating set.

Who do you like better—Adonai Mitchell or Ladd McConkey?

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread
I’ve seen a lot of Ladd hype. I don’t follow cfb, so I’m wondering, if he’s so good, why was he in college for 4 years and why wasn’t his production all that great?yinzername wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 2:09 pmLately leaning Laddwickerkat1212 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 2:00 pm Who do you like better—Adonai Mitchell or Ladd McConkey?
