I agree. Pickett isn’t a super star but can be a game manager or even more. He got 1 game without Canada and played really well. He’s an excellent backup qb with a chance to be a decent starter. Baker Mayfield looked twice as bad as Pickett at times and has come out the other side shining. Pickett can easily do the same.

Not sure if I agree with this. With Baker he has always shown flashes of upside… I don’t know if I ever seen a flash of upside from Pickett.

Yep, PITs offense scheme was prob the most pedestrian in the NFL last year. I’m sure Pickett will get a new chance to show off his skill set eventually.

I don’t think they’re trying to build a new culture around Russ. I think they’re trying to build a good offense that functions at a reasonably high level that they can drop a hopefully franchise QB into in the next two years

I would say that if a team is willing to pay $35+ mil for Russ to stay away (locker room, field, parking lot, cafeteria, etc...) there has to be multiple reasons. Pit got him on the cheap so there is really no risk to try it.
