Fields behind Russ would make sense. Have to admit, kind of scratching my head as to why Philly was interested in Pickett? Maybe they didn't give up much.

It still blows my mind that Fields was routinely going in the first round of Superflex startups last year. This was one of the easiest things to see coming, IMO. Such a terrible decision with your first pick.

Pickett and pick 120
So Philly moves back 22 spots between the 3rd/4th round. Fairly similar to the cost for Sam Howell, and probably what Bears fans should shift their expectation to for Fields.

Re: 2024 Free Agency
I see seven teams that are quarterback needy. In order of their first round draft picks, I have: Chicago, Washington, New England, NY Giants, Minnesota, Denver and Las Vegas. There are six quarterbacks that will go either first or second round. Meaning one team is going to be left out after the draft. Chicago might as well sit on Fields and trade him afterwards.
There is a chance that NYG go with Jones in 2024, but they'd really like to address that position this year.

I don’t see the Giants making that move. Fields is no better than what they already have.Sinatra's Liver wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 12:57 pm I see seven teams that are quarterback needy. Re: 2024 Free Agency
Donald actually re-structured his deal just before announcing his retirement. Helped the team clear 9 mil in cap space for them going forward.
Not that we needed further illustration of Aaron Donald's character vs yours as a Team Player - but I guess there we have it
Re: 2024 Free Agency
I don't think they understand sarcasm dude.
No, they definitely do not.wickerkat1212 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 12:05 pm Yep I can see Fields to PIT now. I'm still thinking 3rd, 6th, and conditional 25 pick (in the range of 4-6th round). But we'll see.
Re: 2024 Free Agency
Allegedly they like Lock. I saw he would be competing for the starting position. Not to say they wouldn't add another cheap one, but doubt they trade any assets awayBabyChark23 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 1:04 pmI don’t see the Giants making that move. It sounds like mutual respect all around if I'm understanding correctly:
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootba ... ent-easier
"His three-year contract from 2022 specifically was crafted to allow him to walk away after two years, without giving up a penny that he’d already received."
Haven't we seen cases over the years where teams would try to claw back some money? I'm thinking specifically about Megatron, but perhaps it is not exactly the same.
In any case...offenses around the NFL might breathe a sigh of relief with this news. Man, he was a pain in the a** for offenses to deal with! Next stop, Canton, first year of eligibility or we should revoke voting rights!
Edit: Sorry, I still can't seem to figure out the quote thing correctly. Was replying to Mild's post above ^.

Very cool that Aaron Donald has a Superbowl ring, he is very deserving.

I don't think it matters what we say. Bears fans, media, fantasy players, and casuals just keep moving on to the next "story."
Justin Fields ranking in ANY/A (yards per pass, factoring in TDs, INTs and sacks)
2021: 4.24 (32nd, only Zach Wilson was lower)
2022: 4.63 (33rd, dead last, well below Zach Wilson)
2023: 5.29 (26th, career-high, just below Aidan O’Connell)

Folks only saw fantasy stats, they didn't see the guy could barely throw and couldn't stack wins. Fantasy stats don't matter if you lose your job because the league is based on wins and wins alone.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 12:09 pm It still blows my mind that Fields was routinely going in the first round of Superflex startups last year.
