Isn't KA mostly slot? DJM is an elite route runner? Since when?

What are people’s thoughts on the Samuel signing in Buffalo?

Can he be a better version of Cole Beasley in that slot role? Diggs slowing down slightly and a smaller WR room.

Or is this an opportunity to sell with the news and analysts like Matt Harmon pumping him up? I’m intrigued with him and think there’s an outside chance he could be a low end WR2, but if someone offers an early second I would sell.

I think he's got a chance to have a good year, the Bills obviously believe in him considering the contract. But I don't think he is the kind of player that can go gangbusters, just too inconsistent. Harmon has hyped up Samuel since he was drafted, I remember him saying something to the effect of, Curse you Commanders for making me believe Curtis Samuel isn't good at football. I drafted him when he was a rookie so I definitely saw the upside but he's never been able to put it together. Most of his issue in the past was QB play so now that has changed he's got the upside but I have a feeling he will be like Gabe Davis, boom bust on a weekly basis.

i've always liked him, He is a buckeye... but he's not someone i would be looking to trade for. i view him as a bye week flex filler at best

should have waited two more days to guarantee 30mm. that would be tough to walk away from even with 157mm in career earnings to date

Curtis Samuel got $15 mil guaranteed over the three years of his contract.

Both Gabe Davis and Darnell Mooney will earn almost that much in year 1 alone of their contracts (with Davis at $24 mil guaranteed and Mooney at $26). I think *that* shows what the Bills really think of Samuel.

That being said, we agree: he's fine as an end-of-the-roster, low priority flyer.

My point was more about them seemingly committing multiple years to Samuel so they have to believe he has a role with the team. They could've done what the Chiefs did with Hollywood and given him a one year prove it deal which would have made much more sense.

Gotcha. Fair point.

I'm suggesting (and I don't think we disagree) that the role is likely minimal and not worth any real fantasy investment.

Thanks for clarifying!
