QJ Price Check

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

QJ Price Check

Postby rsadynasty » Thu Mar 14, 2024 5:05 am

12t 1 QB deep lineup (start 11)

For all the QJ owners out there, what would you sell him for? For example, would you sell him for 2 future 3rds?

I'm holding over 3rds. Waiting for off season hype pieces and one huge catch at training camp and immediately trying to sell for a 2nd (ideally early to mid). If I have to add a later round pick or move him and another player for an upgrade, that'd work too.

Unless you're at the point of wanting/needing to outright release him, I'm holding QB over two future 3rds.

MWilliams is gone. We don't know for a certainty that LAC will draft a WR in the first two rounds, and it's not like the team doesn't have needs at other positions. In a scenario where Harbaugh chooses a couple of cheaper FA vets instead, I can see QJ's production increasing from last year to where he's a decent flex option. Not saying it's probable, but it's a better chance than two random future 3rd-round players getting playing time on your team.
TEAM 1:
12 Team ppr w/20 keepers - start 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1FLX 6IDP 1DEF
QB: Tua, Lamar, Levis
RB: Etienne, Pacheco, JavonteWms, JFord, CEH
WR: Lamb, JChase, Waddle, Pickens, MWilliams, Q Johnston
TE: Goedert, Friermuth
DEF: Cowboys, Ravens
IDP:(LB) Bolton, Greenlaw; (DE/DL) ZCollins, BJHill; (S/CB) Pitre, Bates, Witherspoon
2023 & 2022 Champion: 2020 third place: 2019 Champion

TEAM 2:
14 Team 30roster SF/ppr/TEP - QB/RB/WR/TE/5FLX/SF
QB: Tua, CJStroud, Carr, AOC, MWhite, Lock
RB: Etienne, Stevenson, GusE, AJD, Singletary, CEH, Spiller
WR: Amon-Ra, Kirk, Dell, Thielen, Gallup, Ch Jones
TE: Andrews, Waller, Taysom, Smythe, WMallory, JOliver

I am trying to buy. What would be a good opening offer? For example, would the 3.04 + a 25 3rd be close enough?

Worth a shot. Doubt it's accepted, but max value is a late 2nd at the moment, so don't think that's insulting.

I’m a QJ manager and 3.04/25 3rd + empty roster spot would atleast be enough to get me wondering if it’s time to get off this particular ride. Not sure I’d do it, but it’s close enough to consider.

That's an offer I'd make. A lot of QJ's managers either are out on him or are influenced by the consensus to think he has no chance to improve. Two 3rds is a fair starting point -- from there it just depends on which type of QJ manager is in your league.

I never liked QJ. But in 1QB I'm buying just about any 2nd year WR with round one NFL draft capital for two thirds. Not saying the offer is bad, but it doesn't seem very compelling.
