They haven't missed out on the Cousins sweepstakes (yet). The tune could change after he signs somewhere. I did see teams were considering Darnold and Z.Wilson over Fields. Doubt there's truth to the later, but the former wouldn't be a bad choice in the right offense. Prediction: Fields still goes somewhere for a 3rd/mid round pick, but there's not much leverage left.

It seems pretty clear that there isn’t a team in the league that considers Fields to be a franchise QB, including his current one. That said, he’s very likely to still carry value for the next decade +/- as a bridge/high end backup QB and a guy can make a damned good living doing so.

Agreed Tim. Maybe Russ did bet a little too big on himself, and wasn't able to run the style of offense he thought he could. But what happened in Denver was a debacle all around. And as I noted earlier, Pittsburgh and Denver square off this year so I'll be circling that one on my calendar!

Correct. FA contracts with other teams can be signed at the start of the 2024 NFL year, which starts at 11:59:59 pm EST Wednesday I believe.
