Team Review (transition from rebuild to contending)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Team Review (transition from rebuild to contending)

Postby rsadynasty » Fri Mar 08, 2024 10:29 am

Format: 12T 1QB start 11 (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 4 FLEX).

Team:
QBs: Anthony Richardson, Trevor Lawrence, Kirk Cousins, Aidan O'Connell
RBs: Aaron Jones, Emari Demercado, Chris Rodriguez, DeWayne McBride, Kevin Harris, TDP, James Robinson, McIntosh
WRs: Amon-Ra, Garrett Wilson, 1.01/MHJ, Tee Higgins, Jordan Addison, Jaxon-Smith Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, A.T. Perry, Parker Washington, Xavier Gipson, Greg Dortch, Russell Gage, Mecole Hardman
TEs: Dalton Schultz, Luke Musgrave, Cade Otton, Jonnu Smith

Picks
2024: 1.01, 1.11, 2.01, 2.03, 2.04, 2.12, 3.04, 3.11
2025: proj. late 1st (not mine), my own 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks + a proj. mid 3rd (not mine)
2026: all my own except I do not own my own 1st

I'd love to get your feedback on what moves I should make. This will be my first year contending coming out of a two year rebuild.

From my perspective, my main need is RB. I plan to attack RB during the draft, but would also like to try and bundle a couple/few 24 seconds and maybe a future 2nd to get a RB and a 25 1st, knowing the 2025 class is supposed to be heavy on RB.

Thank you in advance!

Without knowing other rosters in your league, I think you’re in pretty good shape. Rb is an obvious need, but when you only need to start 2 and have 4 flex spots, I don’t care much about position and just want to be playing good players. I think you’re two above average starters from a really good team. I would try and move a qb, either arich or Lawrence depending on preference, and try and get an aging contributor, maybe Evans or Keenan Allen. I would shoot for a decent rb, maybe Monty, Javonte and/or Pollard depending on price/other teams needs/goals for a few seconds and go from there. Just a few ideas, upgrading te would be nice but I don’t think it’s a necessity. Good luck!

I think it goes without saying that you should build around your young elite WRs in ARSB, Wilson, Harrison, & Higgins.

I would really look to convert Addison & JSN into equivalent value young RBs - Achane / Kyren / Walker / Cook. I wouldn't overpay too much since it's only a start 2 RB (plus a bunch of flex), but you should be able to back-fill some young WR depth with your 1.11 / 2.01 / 2.03 / 2.04 picks considering the strong WR depth in this draft class - and I doubt you can find equivalent value contributors at the RB position in this draft class.

I would also look to package Schultz + one of those late 1sts / early 2nds to try and upgrade into the Andrews / Kittle / Hock / Pitts tier to offer you additional upside at the position.
10-team/.5 PPR/5 Pts per Passing TD. Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2FLEX (rb/wr/te)
QB: J. Hurts, K. Murray
RB: Bi. Robinson, D. Henry, D. Achane, , J. Cook, Z. Charbonnet, T. Chandler, R. Johnson, K. Mitchell, J.K. Dobbins, T. Allgeier, J. McLaughlin, S. Tucker, T. Bigsby
WR: G. Wilson, B. Aiyuk, J. Waddle, T. Higgins,, Z. Flowers, Di. Johnson, K. Toney, A. Iosivas
TE: K. Pitts, E. Engram, C. Okonkwo, G. Dulcich
