So his gameday weight is likely to be in the mid 230s. He’s already built pretty well. He’s going to end up on someone else’s team.

Isn’t this almost identical height/weight to LaPorta at the combine?

Their tape looks similar in a lot of ways as receivers too. I saw (see) LaPorta as much better in contested catch situations and has more reliable hands. LaPorta is (was) hands down a better blocker, both in attitude and technique.

Those don’t sound like big differences, but LaPorta was able to line up inline credibly, which I question with Bowers. We’ll see how Bowers does in close quarters and securing the catch.

I like Bowers, but he's not this unicorn that some claim. He's a talented, slightly undersized TE. He's not a generational prospect, or the greatest TE prospect of all time or any of that stuff.

I'm just glad he measured in at a respectable size. I was concerned he was 6 ft 2, 235 at the combine, or something like that.

Exactly. Do we need more proof that players play at a significantly lighter weight?

I'd guess Bowers plays around 230. Maybe less.

Right , one is mid 30’s and hasn’t played in 3 years and the other is 22 and been working out for months preparing for this day . Totally the same.

Bowers might be an amazing athlete and football player and size and measurements isn’t everything but he looks small and his upper body in particular looks underdeveloped.

Comparing him to gronk physically is a mistake , his best comps are Engram and Aaron Hernandez imo .

I haven’t pumped Bowers once in this thread , I’m saying he looks small and undersized and could use some more time in the weight room , you said he looks well built and claimed he has a similar body type to gronk . I pointed out he doesn’t and this is a gronk 3 years removed from football . When gronk retired for a half season and then decided to make a return mid season he said he needed time to add weight back on cause he lost 25 pounds , and that was only in half a season away from football . Gronk played at 270 ish , he probably weighs 235-240 now , bowers is probably in the 225-235 range on game days .
