Well sure. I suppose we should be careful anointing anyone to that extent…

… like Caleb Williams. 😉
If Caleb Williams pans out, your franchise is likely going to be relevant for the next decade-plus.

If Marvin Harrison Jr pans out, there's no probability of what your franchise is going to be for the next decade-plus.

It's very common to see elite, all-time great WRs who've never won anything.
There is a wider net being cast by trading down. It isn’t just Harrison.
The opportunity cost is potentially missing out on an all-time elite QB prospect. All the assets in the world can't make up for that.

The best QB in their 100+ year history was Jay Cutler.

Go touch some grass.
And yet, here you are. LOL. This thread was started because I had hope that THIS WAS THE YEAR. It wasn't. So now, we'll see if Caleb can right the ship. As with any thread, feel free to keep on scrolling, brother.

I think so. Anything other than Williams and I just really have to find a new team. LOL. You take the consensus #1. And hopefully we get something for Fields. I really do think the coaching, play-calling, and surrounding weapons really screwed him. Not that he doesn't have issues. How many games did we lose, up for double digits in the 4th. Like, four? I mean, could this have been a ten-win team? IDK.

1.01 Williams
1.09 best WR left of Harrison, Nabers, Odunze. If gone, look at LT/DT/DE.
Moved Fields for picks.
Draft a center in the 2nd/3rd.
Maybe Rice WR to play with Williams (teammates).
FA support for OL/depth and DE splash.

This thread is almost 80 pages long. It keeps getting bumped out of anonymity so many times, I'm starting to suspect Wicker is actually Turco, with the requisite multiple burners to help it along..... :surprised:

Maybe we should start an "all things" for every team?

This thread will never die. Especially since it seems we have more Bears fans than any other fanbase around here.

Still can't believe some of you are suggesting passing up on a potential franchise altering QB for Justin freaking Fields

Now imagine the post count if wk had his Bears internet diarrhea corralled here from the beginning instead of being pummeled in other threads so badly about his relentless Bears posts that he finally started this thread in late August.

Pretty much the definition of “You can’t control him, you can only hope to contain him”. You can’t help but admire the boundless tenacity while questioning the sanity.

The Bears have never successfully drafted and developed a franchise altering QB. Their ownership keeps hiring the same type of GM that is good at scouting/drafting defensive players and good at hiring coaches that are good at developing defensive players. When Chicago tries to change tactics and hire an offensive head coach it always goes terribly wrong. They currently kept a head coach that honestly has done an amazing job at developing the defense and completely turned them around in 2 years. His offense also sucked and the OC was fired. Given all that info...is it better odds that the Bears draft and develop a franchise altering QB with the 1st pick? Or that they trade back and manage to continue the defensive building and turn it into a top 5 or maybe even top 1 unit which can take them to a superbowl with a RB at QB. I think their odds of being relevant for the next few years are better with the trade back. I also think they are going to draft Caleb and 3 years from now we will be seeing graphics on the screen comparing Calebs bad stats to either Maye or Daniels great stats just like they loved to do for Trubisky vs Mahomes. The same people now saying Caleb is such a no-brainer decision will also be making fun of the Bears and saying it was so obvious that either Maye or Daniels was the better prospect.
