What would you offer for G Wilson?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What would you offer for G Wilson?

Postby Randomguess » Mon Jan 29, 2024 12:40 pm

12 man league, PPR, 1 QB, no TE premium. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 flex.
G Wilson is a player I would like but do not need. The other owner and I have had talks in the past about making a deal. Overall, he is looking for a better QB and would like a decent WR or pick in return for Wilson. I'm going to be adding plenty of good WRs in the draft, so this move isn't necessary, but I think Wilson is going to explode next season. Just my gut feeling.

My team:
QB: Lawrence, Minshew
RB: Bijan, Etienne, R White, Spears, Z White, Spiller, Abinakanda
WR: Lamb, D Smith, J Williams, Burks, Iosivas, Shakir, T Palmer
TE: Laporta, Muth

2024 picks: 1.01, 1.02, 1.04, 1.05, 1.06, 1.08, 1.10, 4.02

His team:
QB: Stafford, Young, Howell
RB: Gibbs, Pollard, Walker, J Williams, Dillon
WR: Chase, Wilson, Aiyuk, Jeudy, G Davis
TE: Kincaid, Musgrave, Schultz, Goedert, Jordan
2024 picks: 1.09, 3.05, 3.09

If you feel this is not a good idea to pursue, please let me know as well. Thanks
Team 1:
QB: Stroud, Minshew
RB: Bijan, ETN, R White, Z White, Spears
WR: Lamb, Nakua, Olave, D Smith, Shakir, Iosivas
TE: Laporta, Ferguson
2024 picks: 1.01, 1.02, 1.04, 4.02
2025 two 1sts

If the other manager is interested in a QB upgrade, would you rather hold Lawrence or move him? If you want to hold him, maybe offer the 1.05 and J. Williams and see if that gets you close. J. Williams closed the season well which gives hope and the 1.05 should land C. Williams in the draft for the other manager. Maybe go as high as the 1.04 in a 1 QB if it gets the job done? Outside of that, I don't see a great option because I don't think moving Smith + a pick the value is there. Smith is already really solid.

I was thinking 1.04 and Burks.
Otherwise Lawrence and 1.10 for Wilson plus any of his qbs if you want to grab Caleb or another rookie qb early.

Good luck -oo-

I'd be fine trading Lawrence away and drafting 2 QBs with the 1.06 and 1.08 or 1.10. Ideally, I'd still like to walk away with MHJ, Nabers, Bowers and Caleb with 4 of my first 5 picks. I'm certainly open to trading the 1.05 or 1.06 + Williams if it lands me Wilson. I really believe AJB could be traded this offseason and Smith would become a real asset. He's already proven he's legit.

Way light in 1QB IMHO.

In a shallow league, I don't think Jameson has much value at all. And I'd be shocked if 1.04 alone is enough to really entice the team that owns G Wilson now. I think you're talking 1.04 + Lawrence (and maybe Jameson, too) to have a chance. And I'd be willing to pay that, as well (and that still might be light).

You can draft or trade for a Lawrence replacement faaaaar easier than getting a young, top-10WR who, you think, is about to explode.
10 tms 27 plrs PPR
Start: 2QB 2RB 3WR 2TE 2Flex / best ball

QB: Herbert, Love, Rodgers, G Smith, Stidham, T Taylor, Hall
RB: McCaffrey, Mixon, Pacheco, Montgomery, Z White, Allgeier, Dillon
WR: Hill, St. Brown, Kupp, Allen, Lockett, B Johnson
TE: Kelce, Kmet, Kraft, Okonkwo, Dulcich, Tremble

2024: 2.09, 3.07, 3.08, 3.10, 4.08
2025: 2nd (x2), 4th, 5th (x2)
2026: 1st, 2nd (x2), 3rd, 4th, 5th

12 tms 22 active plyrs. Salary Cap $300 PPR
Start: 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1SF 1Flex / best ball

QB: Love ('24), Rodgers ('24), Stidham ('25), Lock ('25)
RB: Mitchell ('27), Dillon ('24), Rodriguez ('24), Spiller ('24)
WR: G Wilson ('26), AJ Brown ('26), E Moore ('25), DJ Montgomery ('25)

I don't disagree with you at all. Lawrence, Williams + 1.06 might be a starting point.

And Burks is worse than JAMO, I'd say.

I'm not taking 1.04/T.Law/JAMO for G.Wilson in 1QB. T.Law is a QB2 at this point which has marginal value in 1QB. And I'm getting the WR4 or Bowers with the 1.04 in non-TEP (meh).

No harm in offering it. You know your league. But if that's the range of what I was willing to pay, I'd hold off until the 1.06 is at max value to increase the odds of this getting any attention.

That said - I think most of what I've read in this thread is undervaluing GW.

The other owner highly values GW, so you are probably correct.

these offers all seem light to me for Wilson, but I looked at KTC, and wilsons value is inline with them. If the market is this down on Wilson, now is a good time to go out and buy him.

I would be fine with sending the 1.02 for Wilson straight up, and adding small pieces to make it happen (such as burks, Williams etc.).
