I’m dubious of AP and the Raiders. Feels like they didn’t do due diligence in interviewing HCs, and let the players make the hire

I think with interim coaches, player sentiment is very important. And, the players seemed aligned in wanting Pierce back. Sure, there are better coaches available, but you have a guy that the team wants to suit up for and is universally liked from top to bottom. That's a big part of the battle.

There’s a bit of history to one of the NFL “scripts”; interim coaches come in and get wins out of players in the back end of a season just because the culture changes and disgruntled players actually start to try again. Then subsequently it turns out the the interim coach wasn’t the “right” guy, just a “different” guy

I think the Cousins part of the equation matters much more than the CrapDaniels part of the equation.
Well observed.

But, if they have plans on drafting and developing a QB with first round capital, they should look at Ben Johnson, Dave Canales, and Bobby Slowik.

Atlanta has been kicking the can on drafting a 1st round QB for a while now. I don't think they can afford to keep doing it.
Been thinking about this some as well. I think they have to do both.

Their attempts to go 1st round QB are immediately sunk if it goes QB 1-2-3 in the draft. I don't think this is a draft where you want to reach on QB4. There's definitely a world where Daniels (or Maye) drops and they can pounce - but I don't think they can count on it.

They need to go veteran QB this offseason as insurance, and then take the QB as well if he's there. Just my gut-feeling 2c.

I think cousins would be fine, Russ would be a disaster..I don't think Russ buys into his coach's offense, he does his own thing. Cousins is all business and treats football as such

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Titans are finalizing a deal to hire former Bengals OC Brian Callahan as their new head coach.
Good hire by Tennessee, I've gotta say. This guy helped make Jake Browning look viable at the Pro level, as well as everything else this Bengals offense has accomplished in the Burrow era.

Will be interesting to see which offense gets impacted more by this hire out of Tennessee and Cincy.

Well if he brings his dad with him that will instantly help the OL. Bill Callahan is arguably the best OL coach in the business.

Agreed but what he has to work with in Tennessee is not great, hopefully they improve that thru the draft.

Feels like the easiest call in mock drafts right now is an OL to TEN at 1.07. We'll see but it sure looks likely. I could also see them going WR. They need one really badly.
