There's another pretty reasonable landing spot that should be on our radar, though: the Las Vegas Raiders.

Raiders Interim GM Champ Kelley was the assistant director of player personnel for the Bears back in 2021 when they drafted Justin Fields.

He would have been on-board with his evaluation of him then to ok the trade up. If he still likes him, and -if- Champ stays on as GM with Antonio Pierce... we should have this one filed away, imo.
I can get on board with LVR > ATL. I just don't see him as a good fit with ATL, but it all depends on who they bring in as their HC.

He definitely doesn't strike me as a Bill Belichick kind of QB, if that's indeed who gets the job there - agreed.

Would be an out of conference trade as well which is usually more likely.

Bears look like they are gonna hire Kingsbury (current USC QB coach) as OC so they can pair with Caleb.

They're just interviewing him. No announcement on a hire, nor even a 2nd interview yet. (Typically a sign that they're actually close to a deal)

They've also requested interviews with other luminaries like Greg Roman, Marcus Brady, Shane Waldon, Klint Kubiak, etc.

No news yet.

Or hiring Roman to run the Lamar offense with Fields. Too soon to say.

I feel as though we’re playing the game right now and trying to maximize value for trading the 1.1… Obviously got to make it look like we’re seriously considering drafting Williams.
12 teams, 6pts all TDs, 1/2 pt PPR. 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D, 2 FLEX RB/WR/TE

QBs - P Mahomes,
RBs - Bijan, J Jacobs, K Walker, B Hall,
WRs - AJ Brown, J Waddle, DJ Moore, T Higgins, D London, Smith-Njigba, J Downs, AT Perry
TEs - D Kincaid, Musgrave
Ks - Boswell, McPherson
Ds - Texans, Jets

2024 - 3 1st rounders... Picks 1.5, 1.7, 1.11… 1 2nd 2.17… 1 3rd 3.31…

The Bears could be interviewing Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik right now for their HC role, but instead, they're interviewing....Greg Roman and Kliff Kingsbury for OC.

Some franchises just stay bad.

Don’t teams have to wait to interview Ben Johnson until after the Lions are eliminated from playoffs? Same for Slowik and the Texans? Or can they interview while still in it?

They could very well just be interviewing Kingsbury as an extra method of doing due diligence in regards to Caleb Williams. They might not have any intentions of even considering hiring Kingsbury and it could still make sense to interview him.

By itself, interviewing Kingsbury is smart just to get intel on Williams.

I just don't understand why they are choosing to miss out on Harbaugh, Vrabel, Johnson, Slowik, Shaw, Canales....to stick with what they already have as a leader and interview OCs who aren't as good.

This feels like the most stacked coaching pool in a while.

Johnson and Slowik have already interviewed with multiple teams. Those teams just can't announce hiring them until they're eliminated from the postseason.

There's been speculation that the Panthers and Commanders are in heavy on Johnson.

I can't see the Panthers getting him, unless he breaks the bank. There's zero reasons to go there, beyond getting a boatload of money more than the next best offer.
