Nico Collins
Re: Nico Collins
Just glad I bought him in my IDP auction and drafted him in a few money leagues. He was not an expensive acquisition but I did like his upside with Stroud although I don't think many of us really expected Stroud to be this good this fast.
He was a sleeper pick for me this year.

Re: Nico Collins
This has been my worst trade ever. Nico for Aaron Jones after week 2. Turns out I didn't even need RBs as I got Henry and k Williams for very cheap.
I just didn't see this Stroud thing coming to this level this quickly.
Re: Nico Collins
yikes!!! Trading for Aaron Jones in week 2!?! Making a playoff push 11 weeks early?

I bought when Aaron Jones first got hurt (thought to be minor) and Nico put up a good week. At that point, both were worth 2nds and it made sense. Still wish I hadn't, but at that point I assumed Nico was had a lucky week or two. Turns out, Stroud is really good. Two Cents wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 8:12 amyikes!!! In 5 of 10 games last year (including 4 straight before he got injured) Nico Collins had 7 targets or moreCGW wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 8:15 amI bought when Aaron Jones first got hurt (thought to be minor) and Nico put up a good week. With the targets still there, Im kinda surprised you would be so quick to eject....for an aging, injury prone RB nonetheless.
Sorry not trying to go in hard on ya. Im just surprised someone wouldn't think Stroud would be better than Davis Mills based on albeit limited information.

Re: Nico Collins
I bought him Week 10 by selling to a RB needy team that was clearly a playoff team. Sent A. Kamara and received Collins plus a late 2nd. While Kamara has very good in .5 ppr scoring, the gap between him and Collins wasn't as much as I thought it would have been. One of my better trades this year. You win some and you lose some.

Re: Nico Collins
Yup. When Collins (among others) was hurt and my defending champion team needed some points to assure a good playoff spot I gave up Collins for... Adams straight up. I swear I regretted it the second I hit accept. Now it's probably my worst deal in a decade. But... so it goes. Maybe Adams has a few decent years left or blows up in the playoffs this year to make me feel a tiny bit less bad about it.Dr.Graffin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 9:16 am I bought him Week 10 by selling to a RB needy team that was clearly a playoff team. Clearly Stroud was going to be an upgrade over Mills, but who knew he was going to be a star year one capable of propelling a relative bum like Nico to relevancy.
I tell you what...I'll let you hold onto all the third year breakout WRs. I'll miss on some here and there, but the hit rates are abysmal for these guys. I'll stick to my strategy of selling/avoiding guys who don't hit early on.
Re: Nico Collins
Does anyone expect Houston to bring in a big WR in the offseason? Or draft one? How what that change your outlook on him moving forward. I think he only has 1 year left on his contract.....
Re: Nico Collins
I'd expect HOU to focus on defense this offseason and probably bring in some OL, WR and RB depth. Nico has 1 year left, but I think they re-sign him as of now, depending on how next season goes. They have Nico, Dell, Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson under contract next year so I'd expect Nico and Dell to continue this 1A/1B trend. They can save 5m by cutting 32 yr old Robert Woods.
I don't see why they would prioritize bringing in a WR in the 1st or 2nd round, but I'd expect to see them snag a guy day3 or maybe a cheap vet if they intend to replace Woods.

Re: Nico Collins
I could see a pure slot guy, maybe. But, Collins and Dell have proven themselves as a very good 1/2 or 1a/1b punch for that team. I don't think that's changing. Dell's injury isn't a ligament tear, so I don't expect any dropoff when he returns. Houston actually has pretty solid WR depth overall.
If anything, I could see the Texans bringing in a RB to take advantage of the window they have. Pierce is a flash in the pan and Singletary is more of a complimentary back. They can afford to bring in someone like Saquon or Jacobs if they want.

Collins worth a mid first now then for most people?
