As the outlier guy here I’ll give some of my thoughts as to why I’m not overly concerned about Fields’ immediate future and why I like him.
To be a viable NFL starting QB, you have to be able to process the field quickly. Fields is as bad as I have ever seen at this. He has the physical tools, but will never succeed in my opinion.
Totally agree. It's his downfall. If he had the mobility of Kirk Cousins, he wouldn't even be in the league.
Could very well be a blind spot for me. I am still holding shares of Lance, after all.

You will find your acquisition market very robust if you're chasing more Watson shares this offseason, if those are your expectations of him.

It doesn't worry you that Watson hasn't had a single 300 yard game in three years now?

He wasn't before the shoulder injury so... I don't know how you could say that with such confidence.

I don't think he'll ever be a top 3 QB again, but I think low end qb1 high end qb2 is definitely possible.

Flacco benefits greatly by having good defenses like the browns this year and jets last year. I do think he should be an NFL QB given the QB landscape and don't know why the jets didn't bring him back that year after week 1.

Yeah, it's definitely possible but not something we've seen out of Watson in his time at CLE

And I'd honestly be worried at this point. Watson was never the most talented QB; he had a competitive edge to him that willed himself into the elite tier.. and it looks like he's lost that edge.

He's pretty much locked into the starting job with his contract but I see very real potential here for this to be a Russel Wilson with DEN situation where they're more 'stuck' with him than he is a driving force for his team.

Also, not sure if you clicked the twitter link but Mayfield is also greatly out performing him in a much worse situation.

I mean, another take on Cleveland is that this is a roster so good, that it's been able to go 10-5 despite starting 4 different QB's. You can't do that unless you have talent, and good coaching.

The fact that formerly ELITE QB Joe Flacco can literally come in off the couch and immediately light it up with the exact same receiving core is not... exactly promising re. Watson.

I'm just saying - if we apply risk to him as an asset, he's dangerously close to having the bottom fall out of his remaining value. The excuses last year were that he was out of football / getting his mind space right / rusty. The excuses this year are the shoulder, and whatever else you want. (He wasn't exactly lighting it up when healthy? I guess maybe you could sell me on his rushing... except that next year he'll be 29, and coming off a season where contact ended his year)

Next years excuse is... ____________ ?

I'm just saying. Some of us are wondering how many more chances you're going to give him.

Once again sir:

Joe Flacco, 326.75 passing yards per game.

Exact same receivers...
