Dell vs Waddle

Postby OhSnapItsAnt » Tue Nov 28, 2023 1:13 am

I gave Waddle to get Dell and 2- 2nds a couple weeks ago.
Most here recommended not to do the trade but I really wanted a share of Dell.

What do you guys think of the trade now? I’m also asking because I’ve received a few trade offers for Dell and I’m trying to gage his value.

Thank you!

I'm not surprised folks were down on that trade. Waddle carries a lot of value (maybe more than he should) and I'm not sure this extracted the full value.

That said, I have no issue with it. Dell (and Stroud) have proven it to me. Given this is a 10-team SF league those 2nds have elevated value. Even if only one of them hits, this deal will look pretty good.

On the whole I think folks are too high on Waddle. I cashed out earlier this year simply because of value. He's a fine player, great FF asset, etc. Just seems overpriced to me. Currently has a first round start-up ADP in 1QB. Too rich for me.

Edit: And to Dell's value. I have him in one league. I wouldn't sell him for a late first (1QB league). At this point I'm riding him. The only rookie WR I'm sure I want over Dell is Addison. There's debates to be had, but he's in the mix at the top of the class.

I’m one of those who put Waddle on a pedestal for sure. I have softened on him a little. Great player on a great offense. I think the chemistry between Dell and Stroud is real and noticeable.

Tough call here. I still think Waddle is a great young WR but Hill is the alpha as of now and who knows when that changes. Dell has explosive playmaking ability much like Waddle but is hitting more this year. These two could be close enough moving forward in the short term that if one of the 2nds is early, I think you did fine here. Both are good young assets.

I would be hesitant to move Dell right now short of massive overpay. His value is going straight up fast and the hype will continue to grow. He has great chemistry with Stroud, separation skills on all levels and is TD machine

I wondered about that part too as I generally don't either. But in a 10-team, 2QB they should have a bit more value.

I really don't value late firsts in 12 team 1qb so wouldn't value seconds in 10 team 2 QB either.

I think now is a perfect time to sell Dell. Teams have not started to take him seriously, but they will now. He lacks the size to be a 20% target guy over a full season. I doubt his value will ever be higher.
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,
RB: D. Harris, D. Montgomery, Kendre M.
WR: Chase, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Waller, J. Woods, Dulich, Mayer

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr
QB: AR, Watson, Young, Levis
RB: ETN, Walker, Pierce, Akers, Pacheco, Herbert, Warren, Kelley
WR: G. Wilson, Higgins, Godwin, Kirk, Bateman, Collins, Doubs, Chark, Shaheed,

hearing no value on draft picks is wild, just do some research you will hit all the time lol. sorry those comments blew me away. one of the best things in dynasty is doing research and hitting on picks because you had a hunch based on your own formulated opinions.
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

Yeah. It's not that 2nds have no value. For me it's generally the case that I'd rather use them to get trades done or to move up in the first. It also depends a lot of roster size and whatnot. Generally I'd rather fewer, more elite prospects. But I admit I'm starting to rethink that.

I agree there’s a chance Tank’s value may never be higher than right now, but I can’t get behind the notion that NFL coaches were willingly game planning to not take a player seriously.

When Nico was out, Dell played well. Why were teams ignoring him?

The size thing will always be his knock, but I don’t understand why this restricts him for a 20% target share. Smaller WRs have had more success as the NFL changes. More importantly he doesn’t play small.
