Buy Keenan Allen + Dobbs?

Both Keenan Allen and Robert Joshua (the Passtronaught) Dobbs seem like a very obvious sell high right now, but should a contender actually consider buying high?

Team 2 in signature. Superflex league, I've lost my only real QB option for the Superflex spot when Kirk went down. No way I can trust Mac Jones or Bryce Young right now.

I hit up the Dobbs owner to see what he wanted after he put him on the block today and he said he wants a 2nd round pick for him. I own 2x1sts next year (One my own, one a bottom 3 team), a 3rd and a 4th, but no 2nds. So I asked if he was interested in moving another player in the deal with Dobbs for my later 1st (I'm 9-1).

He responded by sending an offer of
Keenan Allen+Dobbs+'25 2nd (projected early) for
Nico Collins+'24 1st (mine)+ '25 1st (mine)

Now I'm ecstatic he didn't ask for my earlier 1st next year, but adding 2 firsts onto Nico seems excessive no? I'm not sure Bob Dobbs even keeps the job when Mullins and Jaren are back, even though he's drowning in hype right now. But KA is absolutely ballin out at nearly 32 years old, and I'm trying to win it all this year.

That’s a bit rich. I’d counter Nico and a 1st(and add a 3rd if necessary) for Dobbs and Keenan.

I'd struggle shipping a single 1st and Nico for those two and a 2nd, but absolutely all in, would at least consider it... No chance I'd mortgage my entire future (e.g. add an additional 1st) on tip. That's a massive overpay based on each players value.

Makes sense, although I'd like to reiterate, I would still have another 1st in 2024, and an early one at that. Thanks for your input!

You could buy younger players for 2 1sts. Try Olave or someone like that if you want another good wr. Granted he isn’t putting up those numbers but still.

And by the time you spend 2 1sts go ahead and throw the early one in and shoot for Jamar or Lamb

I’d much more likely try the early and late on AJB, Lamb, ARSB, etc than 2 on Keenan.

I sold Keenan Allen last week for a late 24 1st.
A late 24 1st MAY be a little rich for Dobbs, but I feel like a late 25 1st feels about right.
Still no need to throw in Nico too.

I'm with the consensus on this being too pricey.

If we knew that Dobbs was going to net a starting job next season, I could maybe live with this. Allen is crushing it and will help teams with down the stretch. Feels like the NFL had enough tape on Dobbs before this nice run and he never sniffed a starting role. He might get a gig, but this deal is paying as if he has one. I wouldn't take that risk with multiple firsts.

Piling on, I think the deal helps you now, but it's too pricey overall. If you can land them for Collins + a 1st + a small piece, I would go for it and push for a title but two 1sts and a young solid WR is a tall ask based on all factors.
