Hey guys I have a pretty strong team, my QB situation is Stroud and Deshaun Watson.

Are you moving a 2025 2nd to get Dobbs on your roster? Kids got great work ethic and has performed very well against some tough defenses. Does he get a chance somewhere else??? That’s the question, would also hate to acquire him and then he sits behind Murray in 2 weeks or so…..

I think he is risky long term but if you need the depth as a contender this year, a 2nd is not bad in SF.

I have him in a 12 team SF league, picked him up off waivers in August.
This league doesn't seem to value QB's very highly, I don't really need him, as I have 6 starting QB's on my roster right now.
However, don't really just want to give him away either.

Is it possible that Dobbs has earned himself a look as a starting QB somewhere in 2024???

I am looking at this from the seller's POV right now.

I offered Dobbs for a late 24 3rd last week, after he was traded to the Vikings, but the potential buyer thought that was too much to pay.
He wound up buying Taylor Heinicke for PJ Walker, Tyson Bagent, and a late 7th round pick (Full IDP league).

My thinking is that Dobbs value now is higher than a late 3rd round pick.
There is potential that he could be a starting QB on some team in 2024 I think.
Could be the next Geno Smith.....

This is how I see it too. If you are a contender and you will start him, then a 2nd isn't all that much to give up to help compete.

However I wonder if there are slightly better options that could be had for a 2nd. For example - I shopped Carr in one of my leagues and the best offer I could get was a 2nd. I didn't take it. But maybe other Carr owners would. Just saying that if I needed a marginal QB, I'd shop the 2nd around to see if I could hook someone better than Dobbs.

If it'll help you win this year, your late 2nd is fair. It's really really unlikely he pans out long term, but it's all about winning when you get your chances.
