Allen/Picks or Hall/Tagovailoa

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Allen/Picks or Hall/Tagovailoa

Postby krtbuckeye » Thu Oct 12, 2023 10:09 am

For the team in my sig, league switching to SF next season (caveat, all teams have to cut down to 2 QBs prior to 2024 draft). Team in last place is considering moving Hall, so looking into a way to get him without totally blowing up my QB situation.

Would you give Allen/2026 1st/2 2025 2nds (all picks from contenders) for Hall/Tagovailoa?

I’m not looking to wheel and deal quite as much with this team moving forward, and prefer young production over picks by a good margin, so I think that’s factoring into me considering this.

I think the value is okay but Allen is much safer than Tua. Tua is a bit up and down whereas Allen seems like one of the safest QBs in dynasty while still having upside. I don't think it's bad because Hall is a great asset, but I would probably hold the top end QB here.

Thanks Gator! Letting Allen go would definitely be tough, I am a bit enamored but Hall at the moment, but weighing if the downgrade to Tua (despite my outlook on him being more favorable this season) would be worth it. I appreciate the input!

Allen to me is a significant step up from Tua due to running ability and durability, although those may contradict each other at the drop of a hat. Regardless Tua is severely more injury risky. Due to Allen being a substantial step above Tua(~QB2 Vs. ~QB8) this seems like an overpay to get all being more than a 1st and 2 2nds in a draft that is going to be more valuable than usual with start of SF and only keeping 2 QBs per team. The first and second rounds will be made up mostly of those remaining 12 starting QBs even though they hold slightly less value in a 10 team.

I appreciate this! Mentioning the QB cut down to 2 per team wasn’t clear on my part. We’re actually only cutting down before the 2024, so the picks further out wouldn’t be affected by that.
