Firesale or Hold Tight?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Firesale or Hold Tight?

Postby davieglove34 » Tue Oct 10, 2023 10:30 am

Just lost Jefferson and Conner to IR, Ekeler has already been ruled out for this week, Mike Evans questionable with a hammy. Was in 1st place in position and total points until last week's injuries and bye weeks. Do I try to stand pat and tread water for the next month until JJ and Conner come back, or should I be looking to firesale and reload?

As with all these types of posts, I think it depends on return. It never hurts to shop to see options, but if the returns are not there, no reason to give players away. The think your team is in a place to lose value long term, so I see where you are coming from, but hard to say what your market options are. If you blow it up, Allen and Jefferson are good corner stone pieces.

Shop and go from there.

I'd echo what Gator said, but I'd add that I'd be leaning toward selling

It's feels like a fringe contender WITH Jefferson/Ekeler/Conner, considering it's a 10tm.
With no 1st next year, I'd start looking to reload while guys like Tyreek can still get you a haul

I think as close as you are to full rebuild, this may be the nudge you need to start early. Don't sell anything low, but you ears should be open. Tyreek and Evans should be on the block
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

***Update:
The Mixon owner reached out and has made an initial offer of two 2nds for him. Thoughts?

So you'd be buying Mixon in this deal?

Feels like a patchwork deal that will set you back more in the future when your team ages out. I'd be looking to make a deal like that if I was loaded everywhere and had a hole at RB. I'd hold

Nah dude, your team's not gonna get it done this year, with or without the Mixer. I'm actually super-surprised that in a 10-tema league your team is in first in both points and record with your RB room. I'd go ahead and put a fork in this season and hit reset and try to get as much value on your older players and re-tool.

x2 I think JJ, Conner, and Evans' hot start had a lot to do with that. Without those guys, I'd be looking to reset

Why do you have so many TEs? I’d look to offload some of that ASAP. I bet you’re either carrying dead weight and always start the same TE wasting bench space or you’re tearing your hair out every week trying to guess witch TE to tinker tinker play which guy?!
