The Kirk trade rumours are now swirling, yes. Pretty much every news outlet is running with some version of "Should the Vikings trade Kirk Cousins?" today.

This account seems to cite Rival Executives. Who knows if its real. I guess in the manner of a stopped clock being right twice a day, saying that the Vikings are "more open" to trading him this week in the wake of the Jefferson injury - is not exactly a hot take / rocket science.

After a horrendous 1-4 start the Minnesota #Vikings are “more open” to the possibility of trading superstar QB Kirk Cousins, rival executives believe.

Numerous franchises adding Cousins to their existing roster may bolster their prospects as potential Super Bowl contenders. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out over the next couple of weeks.

He's a season rental with an effective "no tag" and an actual "no trade" clause. So Kwesi would need Kirk's buy-in to actually trade him. He would control his own destination.

I hope he likes the idea of Atlanta, personally.

EDIT: Looking at the Dolphins schedule, IR would make sense, if he's going to miss multiple weeks, as they have 4 games left before their bye. That would give him 6 weeks for any surgery needed, if any, and to be 100 percent after the bye, assuming that fits with the timeline.

If I am in Vegas wagering, I think he stays in Minny. I don't think he has any desire to uproot his family for a 12 week rental if there isn't a long term contract in the mix. This excludes the Jets and means he is Atlanta or bust. Why give up draft capital to trade for a 35 year old QB that will be a FA in a couple of months?

I always expected him back after the bye. 2-3 weeks, with a bye after 4 weeks, they are taking the safe route. He's already missed time once this year. It's concerning, and if they are playing it safe, with a meniscal injury, or ligament, it's likely best. He might need a cleanup surgery in the off season, if it's meniscal, it would be nice to know what it is, because some meniscal injuries can wait until the end of the year to operate on, it's just pain tolerance. The Dolphins are so cryptic with their injury reports.
