Addison or 2025 1st

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Addison or 2025 1st

Postby krtbuckeye » Thu Oct 05, 2023 6:59 am

I’m interested in adding Addison, and while it wouldn’t seem like one down week could make a difference, the owner that has him is historically prone to overreaction. Would you offer a 2025 1st (my own) for Addison?

Most people that have Addison used a 2023 first to get him so I don’t know why they would trade him for a 2025 first unless you think it’s from one of the worst teams. So it would be a win for you at that price.

A 2025 1st is a long way out and hopefully the pick looks late. If so and this is on the table, it's a nice deal to land Addison.

I’m looking to approach the other owner with the offer. Thinking I may add in one of the 2nds as well to see if he will send Nick Bosa as well. Our DL IDPs are not big scorers and he has him on the block, so might not be out of the question.

Easily Addison for me, I can’t imagine an owner parting for a 2025 1st. I don’t think that’s particularly close value, I wouldn’t expect it to work.

I’m seeing if adding both 2nds would work also, but for it came down to it, would you give 2025 and 2026 1sts for Addison essentially?

I think the value is ok there, lot closer than just the 2025 1st. But I’m not sure honestly. If he’s a guy you like, and a target, sure. But I’m not sure what state my team was in for this to make sense. If you have a young team that will be coming out of rebuild during that time, it would make sense but if you are early on in a total rebuild, I’d rather keep my picks as they may be early. If I’m competitive, I’d try for a more sure thing with those picks that I know would help me now.
So I guess, for me, value wise it’s ok, maybe slightly in your favor. I’d have to ask myself where my team was to know wether I’d pursue it.
