I think the main takeaway folks should have is that it's week 1 and there's a lot of sloppy, ugly, uncharacteristic football that gets played in week 1. I'm willing to withhhold judgement, for better or worse, on most any player in week 1. It's a long season and a lot can and will happen in ways we can't fathom yet.

Kinda funny knock-on wrinkle.

I had forgotten that the Packers/Jets trade for Rodgers had a "70% snap share" clause. They need that to get the Jets 1st.

I believe it downgrades to a 2nd as a result.

Saying the field test is something like 90%, MRI's usually confirm, Saleh seemed to confirm it in post game ..

Saleh basically told us all we need to know in the post game. Achilles, and "It's not good". I suppose if it's torn, but not ruptured maybe he could return later in the year? I'm honestly not sure how that works though.

Just brutal for Rodgers. And I also feel kinda bad for the Jets organization and fan base. I mean, if that were my favorite team and the season started like that? Gut punch.

Torn / Ruptured are the same thing in this case.

I think what you're looking for is a "partial tear" here. Then I -think- it's a maybe from what I've read - potentially a 12 week recovery? But pretty unlikely that it's this given he couldn't put any weight on it. Also pretty unlikely that he beats any recovery projections as a 39 year old athlete.

This is pretty much the worst-case scenario injury for any football player, and doubly so for an older one.

It's quite possible that Aaron Rodgers may have just played his last snap.

Watching that Wilson TD catch was awesome and painful at the same time. Awesome, because it showed the clear talent the WR has. Painful because it likely would have been a "routine" catch for that talent had Rodgers thrown the ball.

We'll always have Hard Knocks and that one cool AR drive in the Week 3 preseason game.

Full honestly, I don't have Wilson anywhere, but it's just bad for football. We all lose. We want to watch the best WITH the best, and AGAINST the best.

Side note, not a fan of the chains in the interview and the live streaming with cell phones on the field right after the game. I guess I'm just out of touch with the level of narcissism required to understand. This is probably for the "off topic Forum" but the cell phone really messed up people born in the last 30 years or so, and now people born before that time are having to deal with it, or "accept it" as normal/healthy. I don't think it is.

I have him in my main league and he was supposed to help lead me to the promised land this year. It's so disappointing.

I also had a straight-up lunch bet with one of my good mates on Olave vs. Garrett h2h 2023 fantasy scoring.

At least it'll be a nice lunch.

Breece Hall looked great moving around in short areas, for week 1 from an ACL tear. I think Eli said it right though, "he's not in shape"..."he didn't have the burst", on that long run. There is no way Breece is getting tracked down by a#47 if he didn't have to rehab an ACL all year. That would have been 96 yards to the house. He already looks more explosive than Dalvin, though.

To be fair, Garrett Wilson may have been able to make it happen had he tried to block instead of celebrating a TD at his on 32 yard line. "Jonny Mac" was spot on there. "How about somebody block him!". IF Garrett does his job, Breece likely scores there. This isn't an indictment on Wilson, he's young, and needs to learn how to finish plays off the ball. Maybe pop on the DK running down Buddah or something. Garrett could have done his job there and his team gets 6.

Maybe that gave him the juice of inspiration for that insane catch, later, who knows.

Do we get to count the rest of the 2023 season as the AaRon Rodgers farewell tour? Or does he simply forfeit that sort of end for his career? Will AaRon show up on the sidelines for the rest of the year while he recovers, or is he going to bail completely and never show up?

Especially because I need to replace Dobbins on one team with Breece, I want to be really excited about Hall's performance in week 1. But I keep thinking "he had 109 yards on two carries ... and only 18 yards on the other eight carries." I know the sum is the sum and it looks great, but I can't help but worry a little.

But whatever my worries, I'm rolling Hall out for that team in week 2.
