Just Finished Start-Up

Just finished a dynasty start-up auction. This is with a group of buddies, we've been doing a season long league together forever and finally decided to make it a dynasty league.

It's a 12 team SF. Only 4 pts for passing TD's but only -1 for INTs.

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex (one SF spot for a 2nd QB)

QBs: Mahomes, Allen, Purdy, Trask, Sam Darnold

RBs: Mixon, Mattison, James Cook, Damien Harris, Penny, Deon Jackson

WRs: AJ Brown, Ridley, B. Cooks, Zay Jones, Slayton, Van Jefferson, Hutchinson, AT Perry

TEs: Goedert, Schultz, Otton

Any thoughts on if I should hold pat for now or make a move or two? Let me know your thoughts.

Set at QB obviously

RB stable a little old so win now mode you are good but need to sprinkle in a little youth at some point.

WR stable, thin past the 1st two. Hope some of the others hit

Great QB core to build around with Brown being your next core piece. From there, I think you could struggle a bit long term and I would be happy to move on from any of the other assets for the right long term help.

You could also see how this group comes out and go from there push wise or market wise.

I think that makes sense and is probably the way I am leaning. Love Mahomes, Allen and Brown. Wish I had spent more on WR than RB. The RBs I got just went for too little.

I’m going to see how the season goes, and if I’m competitive like I expect to be than great and if not than I’ll sell guys like Mixon off for youth and picks.

Honestly, this is a great, great team. I can't imagine ponying up for Mahomes + J Allen AND having enough left to get the big-name players you got elsehwere. And I'm guessing the RB value -- with them being older -- was too good to pass up and give you a nice win-now opportunity.

You have a great foundation. I'd probably hold here and reassess week 4. QB your set, wr1 youre all set. TE all set. The rest of the positions you could use some help.
Rbs are adequate.
QBs probably carry you to year one playoffs.

Around week 4/5 I'd look at where you are. If in playoff run I'd look at vet wrs on teams that are off to a bad start see what you can get cheaper.

For now though I don't think I'd make any moves.

Wow, great qb core, assuming that was the bulk of your auction. Your team is solid, not horrible, but not a elite team. Your wr's a ok, just aging with Cooks and Ridley, but not horrible. I think riding your qb's you will be in the playoffs, but if they get hot they could carry you to the title. I would look at your team after 5 weeks or so and if your just ok I'd sell off aging players and re-tool for 2024. Good luck.
