Kyler for Stroud?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kyler has legit questions.
Stroud has legit questions.

Kyler has produced in the NFL.
Stroud hasn't.

This smacks as loving the unknown to me. I'll take Kyler very, very easily.

x2

Give my Kyler, know a lot of people are down on him... but we know he's a legit NFL QB.

Took Kyler 15 picks before I took Stroud in my recent start-up. Like them both, Kyler is more valuable IMO.

Piling on. I would hold the known asset in Murray. Stroud is capped with his lack of rushing upside.

Murray. Would need a worthwhile asset ontop of Stroud to make it even. Murray has shown he can be a top end producer even for pretty questionable teams/offenses. Don't love his attitude, but he's either playing a few more high end years with the cards or somewhere else under his contract.

TE: Njoku, Bellinger, Kincaid, J Johnson, La Porta
DEFENDING champ

I’m pretty much out on Kyler at this point so this is probably closer to me than it appears it is to others. If you could get like a 2nd added on to Stroud, I’m doing that all day.

When you say you are out on him, are you saying he will never play again? Or you only believe play like 2-3 seasons? When he plays he is a qb1 so it seems to me
1. You have to believe he will only play 2-3 more years and Stroud will be a qb1 for 8-10 years to mitigate the risk he busts.

2. He never plays again so pretty much any production from Stroud is a win for you

What is your perspective here? I’m probably missing some options here?

I can’t speak for JoeJoe, but as someone else who is pretty much out on Kyler…my thoughts…

Yes, he’s been QB1 in the past. But that was with Kingsbury and an air raid type offense. What will he be like in a different system? I don’t know.

He also always falls off later in the year. He gets dinged up, doesn’t rush as much, etc. What happens as he ages here more and rushing naturally dries up? (At least it does for most QBs)

And then there’s questions on his work ethic/motivation. Right or wrong. I don’t put a ton of weight here personally, but just another thing to move me off him combined with everything else.

I think he’s going to continue to run less and less. The injuries are starting to pile up for him, and imo he’s not a good enough passer to sustain those fantasy finishes if you’re not mixing in his running consistently.

Additionally, he just seems like a bit of a knucklehead to me. He doesn’t strike me as a guy that a teams going to really rally behind. I’m not sure he’s a long-term, franchise starter in the league.

I didn’t read your post before I responded but this is basically spot-on.
