Probably one of the few top end teams that could win with just about any QB.Ruggenater wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 10:49 amSan Francisco.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
Teams that have a solid backup QB or can pivot to a run heavy offense would qualify as having their starting QB going down and still not having the precipitous dropoff that a team like DET would.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
All of those teams are hinging their season on their QB being healthy and showing them a level of performance on the field.
In the case of Tampa, Washington, even Atlanta - they're counting on those QB's still. If the QB's are just flat-out off the field, then they won't have evaluations of them in real games. More to the point - in the case of Tampa, they're probably counting on them not winning games. Atlanta are expecting to win - they definitely don't have a better option than Ridder. I wish they did.
The person that suggested San Francisco MUST be joking... you must have forgotten about the Eagles playoff game already... none of these playoff teams are doing anything if their starter goes down.
It's a pointless statement for any team with post-season aspirations. The Lions are one of those teams.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
Ok so they couldn't win the NFC with Josh Johnson and his 3 wins in 13 year career. I still maintain they could win a really high percentage of games with any reasonably capable game manager type.mild wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 2:50 pm All of those teams are hinging their season on their QB being healthy and showing them a level of performance on the field.

Re: 2023 Free Agency
They couldn't win the Superbowl with Jimmy G either. They've come up short in high-leverage moments due to their QB play being "not good enough" when faced with the true freaks of the league. The expectation of the Niners roster is "we expect to win the Superbowl". Their season is riding on the QB play finally being good enough. (And I guess we'll see)
Which brings us all the way back to the Lions.
I don't see what makes them spectacular out of any of the Superbowl Hopefuls to warrant saying "they better hope their backup QB is good". Just a weird island to be on, imo.

Hunt got an offer from the Colts, and declined. I think he's close to washed, I'm curious if his denial of his worth is keeping him from getting a contract. Is Arizona next on the tour dates?

maybe he doesn't want to get banged up for 4 months if it's not worth it. he might know he ain't worth 'X', but hopes someone gets desperate enough to offer it to him. otherwise he's just happy to sit on the sofa.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 6:07 pm I think he's close to washed, I'm curious if his denial of his worth is keeping him from getting a contract.
but in other news, the KING of the most important and relevant stat in fantasy football is BACK!

Re: 2023 Free Agency
They made it to the NFC Championship game with their third string QB. That sounds very QB-proof. I don’t think finally failing with their fourth string QB changes that.CGW wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 3:35 pmOk so they couldn't win the NFC with Josh Johnson and his 3 wins in 13 year career.
