10 team SF: Young/JSN or Gibbs/Stroud

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side in 0.5 PPR 10 team SF?

10 team SF: Young/JSN or Gibbs/Stroud

Postby Kramer » Sun Jul 23, 2023 7:49 am

I'm OTC in our rookie draft (team in sig),

1.01 - Bijan
1.02 - AR (me)
1.03 - OTC

My next few notable picks are 1.06, 1.08, 1.09, 1.10, 2.02, 2.03, 2.04.

Same guy has picks 4 and 5. He likely won't take both QBs if I pass up on Young (he has Mahomes and Carr). He has JT, Javonte and Penny at RB, so likely takes Gibbs if I don't.

I'm definitely a contender no matter what. Which direction would you take here?

I’d take Gibbs/Stroud. Would the guy at 1.05 be open to trading down to 1.08? I’d package all those 2nds with 1.08 in a heartbeat for the chance to move up there or maybe 1.08+1.10. This draft class gets weak fast.

I've tried to move up a few times and no one is interested. He's set on taking whoever and not moving back.

Stroud and Gibbs of the options listed seems to help your overall build more.

We're drafting for depth in a rookie draft in July of a dynasty league... and prioritizing positions of need? That makes very little sense to me.

I think JSN and Gibbs are close, and I could argue either way. Even if Gibbs is clearly preferred to JSN, I don't think it's by that much. But I would MUCH rather have Young than Stroud. So easily Young/JSN for me.

*If you think that Young and Stroud are equal (I know some who do and some who prefer Stroud), then I could see the appeal of Stroud/Gibbs. Other than that, though, I'm 100% on the Young/JSN side.

Short update: Got Gibbs and Stroud.

Long update: I didn't think about option 3, where the other guy could trade away his picks lol. Guy traded away pick 4 (Bryce Young). Same guy traded away pick 5 as well, which I was sure was going to be Stroud, but ended up JSN. So I was able to grab Stroud at 6.

Thanks, everyone.

Bonus update: Traded picks 8, 14 and Mixon for G Wilson.
