2023 schedule

Postby Pullo Vision » Fri May 26, 2023 2:45 pm

In previous years, I've used the schedule to leverage trades. Sometimes, it's about a run of good/bad defenses that push or pull value. It can be a late bye where rookies suddenly start getting heavy snaps after the bye.

This year, the Giants have 7 road games in their first 11. If all that travel affects their play, the heavy dose of road games the back half could be the rebound they need. We won't have the cluster of byes right before the fantasy playoffs start.

Curious what quirks in this year's schedule stand out for everyone.

The Thursday night flexing has me concerned. Generally we have seen lower offensive production for Thursday night games.

Chicago, Detroit, KC, NO and Pitt all tie for the league lead with 2 Thursday night games each. Also worth pointing out the Christmas and Saturday games weeks 16 and 17.

Connected to that point- SF has the lowest Rest Disparity in the league. Their depth (with a sprinkling of Shanahanigans on the injury report) could come into play. Sharp points out KC has a rough 6 week stretch at the end of the season. Their bye is smack dab in the middle at week 10.

Based on 2023 Vegas win total odds, NO and Atlanta have the two easiest schedules. Divisional rival Carolina is also top 5. Easier schedules should make it possible to pound the run game. Mike Clay's evaluation seconds how easy NO has it, and gives Carr and Michael Thomas a boost for the SoS. As an aside, his projected top 5 draft order next year- 1. Rams; 2. Commanders; 3. Cardinals; 4. Raiders; 5. Titans.

Easiest schedule first 6 weeks.

If you think Tennessee will be bottom 5 like Mike Clay does, Houston plays them Week 15 and 17.

Yeah New Orleans has a ridiculously easy schedule plus I believe 13 of their games are in a dome. The only late season game outdoors is in Tampa.
