I’d much rather get an email asking if I have an interest in dealing CMC than to get an offer that quite plainly cannot be considered anything than an overt insult.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 4:41 pmWas there any text indicating this was an "opening offer" or an attempt to get a deal done? In MFL, you can add comments in a trade offer.MacDaddy123 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 4:13 pmJust a week ago a guy offered me Jalen Reagor for Jameson Williams. I just ignored the offer.
He comes back at me and was upset because I did not counter, I simply declined.
I told him I don't counter stupid offers, but he pushed me. So I said I'd give him Jamo for a 24 1st (SF), and he says alright.
Deal done.
I do not like negotiating like this, because I feel like I am negotiating with myself.
I prefer the old days when an interested trade party would make a legitimate offer and then two guys would work it out from there.
I have never started a trade negotiation with a stupid offer, but it seems like I am receiving a lot more of them now as apparent "opening offers".
That kind of offer would get a decline from me with no explanation and no intention of responding to any other offers. That way I don’t need to throw back the insult I’d be so sorely tempted to do. If you want to work with me on a trade don’t open by treating me like I have a room temperature IQ.
