It makes no sense to me to try and trade 1.2 this year for possibly 1.2 next year. That 2024 pick is gone and I would not try and get it back because it will be to e pensive. Hopefully lesson learned to not trade away a future first unless you are a contender. So I would definitely take Gibbs who’s value is rising, and maybe try and get a mid first for Chubb in 2024. You really have no chance to compete this year with or without Chubb so you may want to get value for him now. Good luck.

I should clarify I have a projected to be late 1st when I traded Diggs away and also got Tlaw since my QB room was weak. I don’t regret trading my 24 1st because I got ASB .

I have 2 choices either get my pick back somehow, or compete to lower that picks value. As another poster said I could trade the 1.02 for my pick+. If he doesn’t trade it back it hurts the value of the 24 pick and he can’t hope for much better than 1.02 anyway , not sure what the + side is a reasonable ask.

Multiple issues here:
In a 12-team, you do not have the quality depth to compete. Therefore you should be selling.

Since that’s the case, you need to get your 1st back before the fire sale. So you should use that 1.02 on Gibbs. Once he start scoring, your opponent may accept him for that 1st alone. At the very least, the plus won’t be as much. It will be tough to admit the Chubb purchase wasn’t the best idea considering your other assets. You can sell him for about the same price when he gets going as well. Embrace the rebuild, but it doesn’t have to happen overnight. Now is not the time to try to acquire 2023 picks, and the time to use players to get picks in 2024 is in season.

I’d keep TLaw, St. Brown, J. Williams, and maybe Dulcich and look to sell the rest. You have to commit if you realize you should rebuild, rather than stew in mediocrity.

Not sure what you mean about the Chubb purchase. I was just considering trading the 1.2 for my 24 early 1st and asking for another player in return . If he doesn’t go for that I might just try to contend so my biggest asset I’m willing to part with is Chubb. As far as Gibbs yes I could draft him but if I do that what’s the point of trading him away for another 1st?

You are not contending. No way, no how in 2023, are you contending. As the other poster says you have to embrace the rebuild. You need to trade K. Allen, Chubb and B. Cooks. You have 2 choices, rebuild now or rebuild later.

We only keep 13 so at draft time there will be a lot on the vine when people make their cuts so you can afford to rebuild slowly. I might just concentrate on getting some 23 picks if I don’t get a decent offer for the good pieces I have .
