Moving Players, Superflex

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Moving Players, Superflex

Postby wickerkat1212 » Thu May 18, 2023 7:46 pm

So, in my newly adopted orphan team, I am trying to move some players. 12-man, 1 ppr, we start qb-rb-rb-wr-wr-wr-te-superflex-flex-flex. I offered QB White to the Tua owner and QB Heinicke to the Ridder owner—and asked for a third-round pick back for each. Both passed. Do I offer them for a 4th or hold them or drop them? I'm surprised that in a Superflex that neither wanted the backup, especially with Tua having injuries, White looking good in the past, Ridder no definitely started, and Heinicke looking good in the past.

Have I greatly over-valued these guys?
Should I ask for a 4th round pick back instead?
Hold?
Drop?

IDK. I thought the price was reasonable, but my barometer seems to be off.

Thoughts?

I expect Heinicke to start games for Atlanta at some point this season. I would hold him for sure. Mike White is someone who I've never understood the hype for. I'd move him for a 4th, especially if you have a taxi squad.

Depending on roster space, handcuffing QBs even in SF is probably not appealing to many managers. I see the hope to get picks back, but you may be overvaluing here. You could hold and hope to move in season with an injury but even then the market will likely be light.

Given your roster, I'm holding. You have plenty of other inherited players with minimal value you can drop if you need roster space. If you're only getting a 4th (and I can definitely understand why an owner wouldn't pay more now), then you're not missing out on much by not taking it. But, all you need is for one of them to start meaningful games to get real value.

IMO, your asking price is reasonable, some guys just don't understand SF leagues.

Last season I offered the Lamar owner Huntley after Lamar was injured for a 2nd, and he turned it down.
Whatever, I just hold Huntley. Just hold Heinicke and White, you are not exactly loaded at QB yourself.

Last season, in one of my 14 team SF leagues, I offered Love to the Rodgers manager and Geno to multiple managers (after he was named the starter) asking for a 2nd with no takers. Now I have 4 starters and have no qualms holding. They can use those 2nds on RB/WR to put in their SF and I have fewer teams to compete with for a playoff spot.

Maybe auto-accept trade block to the whole league. If you get no takers, then ask for a 4th but I’d be more inclined to hold as both QBs have a higher chance than other backups of possibly getting starts, and if they do, you could get that 3rd. I saw White traded for a late 2nd last season in one of my leagues.

Thanks. I mean, I get it, I look at my starting QBs in that league and I don't have their backups (though I did try to get Hooker in the draft).
