1.03 SF Rookie Draft OTC

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.03 SF Rookie Draft OTC

Postby Farland McBooger » Tue May 09, 2023 5:19 am

SO I have the 1.03 in the rookie draft for the SF team in Sig. Im pretty sure the picks will go Bijan then Gibbs (1.02 needs RB and is loaded at QB). I have a lot of options should all the Qb's are on the board there. Here are my questions:

1. Is Richardson really the top option? I just have hesitancy with a guy that has only started 13 games. I get he has major upside but would Young/Stroud be better off for my team? Im torn on those two also.

2. I could trade back to 1.05 and still grab a QB. Whats the fair cost to do that? Ive been offered a 3rd but feel like that is weak.

3. Another guy has the 1.06, 07, 08 picks but is very shrewd, would 1.03 for 1.06 and 07 be fair? I figure it would be like trading a qb, so two 1sts minimum. Would this even make sense or should I just stick to QB since im weak there?

My next pick isnt until 2.03 (pick 13). I'm open to any thoughts on my team of what route I should try to go. Thanks in advance.

I would not take a QB in a ten teamer at 1.03.

If you decide to take a QB in a ten teamer at 1.03 I'd go with Richardson due to his higher upside.

In 12.teams id go young, stroud, then Richardson 1.02-1.04

In 14+ teams I'd take young, stroud, bijan, Richardson 1.01-1.04

In those orders.

I agree with this as well. In 1 QB leagues I’d take Richardson as well. Same logic.

So I traded the 1.05 (Gibbs) for the 1.03 (Bijan) during the first round of my rookie draft the other day. I added Jordan Love to Gibbs and he added Baker & Trask to Robinson. I also traded up from the 1.08 to the 1.06 while it was on the clock. It cost me my '24 2nd to do (with the understanding of both parties that it will be late).

Richardson seems to have secured near unanimous consensus from authorities as the QB1. I think it's not only due to his game breaking athleticism, but perceived warts of the other talented QB options. I personally have all three ranked in the same tier below Bijan & above Gibbs (who I have in his own tier). I'd rather have Stroud regardless of roster situation, but I'd take ARich over Young on a contending roster (on a pure rebuild I'd go with Bryce).

I would want at least a late first (or equivalent value) to trade back from 1.03 to 1.05. If QB is a luxury position for you I'd be willing to trade down with the stingy owner but I'd insist on getting the first of the three picks. The 1.06 & 1.08 feel like fair value for me.

Looking at your roster trading back might be wise as your biggest needs are RB/WR... In a 10 Team league it is all about studs, which you have at QB and TE.... Have you shaken the trees on trading 1.03 for a young stud WR? otherwise i don't mind trading back to 1.05 and picking up some additional draft Capital or trading back to 1.06/1.08 to pickup a WR/RB combo. Otherwise if you don't find any deals i am taking AR with the upside.. especially with Burrow and DAK you don't necessarily need him to breakout in year 1.

That makes sense. Just as an update, Bijon went 1.01 as expected.

Shop the pick to see what options you have. Hopefully someone in your league wants a QB and pays up. Tough place to be given a 10 team format.

1.03 for Pollard, Jimmy G and Mooney (guy has 1.06 07 and 08)

1.03 for Chubb
