Run it back or try to reboot?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Run it back or try to reboot?

Postby Overachiever77 » Sat Apr 15, 2023 1:48 pm

I feel like my team is good, but over the last few years things haven’t bounced right and this team in sig hasn’t even made a final. Would you run it back or try to start rebooting? The challenge to a reboot is this league has too many owners who won’t trade. The handful of owners who will might not match up for a deal. I know that might give the answer, but all things equal, how would you approach this roster?

Well for one, in a 1QB league only have 3 QBs max. Maybe trade one for draft capital? Other than that, the roster looks in win now mode.

You have the pieces in place to take another run at it. I get the frustration with not even making a final, but this year could be different. You have a good build and can always retool in season if the wheels come off but you are in good shape. Give it another shot!

Since I pick 3rd, I’ve considered trying to get the 2nd pick to land Gibbs along with whoever I think the top WR is. It would likely cost me Deebo and possibly Swift, but I could likely get a future pick back with the 1.02. I don’t want to trade for the sake of it but I also don’t want to be stagnant. Either way I’d like to move Deebo just to break up the SF players. Same goes for Chubb/Watson with the Browns.

I want to make sure I read that right, to move up to the 1.02 will take the 1.03 + Samuel + Swift? Will the future pick be a 1st?

No, sorry I didn’t phrase that well. I’ve Considered trying to acquire 1.02 to pair with already owning 1.03. So I’d have picks 2 and 3 to land what would most likely be Gibbs and JSN. I think getting 1.02 would cost me Deebo plus (possibly Swift), but I think I could get a future pick back, just not sure what. Talks have just been in the feeling out stage.

Got it, thanks for the breakdown! Samuel + Swift is still a bit pricey on paper but I get the upside and possibly restart moving on from Swift.

Much of winning a championship is luck. All you can hope for is to be in the playoffs every year and hope the ball bounces right every now and then

I would happily move Deebo and Swift both are looking very vulnerable and you can easily handle not having them on the roster. Deebo has 1 good season in 4 and Ayiuk is looking like the guy to own there especially with CMC doing what Deebo did in 2019 just better. Swift is looking like a 3rd back Detroit doesnt trust they gave Monty a solid contract rather than handing Swift the keys. No need for you to carry that risk move them get Your RB2 and WR1 call it a season.
