Trade Target: Top 3 RB

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Target: Top 3 RB

Postby stingray_76 » Sun Jan 08, 2012 10:06 am

i'd like to land myself a Top 3 RB (Rice, McCoy, Foster). Thinking of offering this for any one of them:
Bradshaw, Beanie and Miles.
Question is, does this get it done?
Is it too much? Too little?
Good move for me?

sig team.

I personally wouldn't make that trade, if I had any of the top 3. If you switched out Miles and added AJ Green then I might consider it. I would just find it hard to part with Rice, McCoy or Foster unless it was a blockbuster deal I couldn't pass up.

WR: Roddy White, Kenny Britt, Heyward-Bey, Torrey Smith, Damian Williams, Danario Alexander, Earl Bennett, Vincent Brown, Golden Tate, Dezmon Briscoe
TE: Vernon Davis, Owen Daniels, Fred Davis

It's darn close, but it's not enough. Honestly, given how the posts have been lately, I might take a shot at MJD instead. He may come a lesser price and I think is every bit as good as Rice and Foster.

As a Rice and McCoy owner, I can tell you I certainly wouldn´t accept that offer. If someone wants a truly elite player from me, the only way he gets his wish is sending an elite player himself(neither of those three is..) or ridiculously overpaying with nearly-elite players.

That all being said... it defintely cant hurt, if you send out those offers. You might just get lucky... though I wouldn´t count on it.

Unless your offer includes Calvin or AJ Green at a minimum, it is getting turned down. Wells and Bradshaw are bye week/flex option RBs who are undesirable. Miles Austin is a solid WR, but he comes no where near to making up the gap from an elite RB.

This kind of trade offer is pretty much going to kill any chances of discussion. If you are going after an elite talent from my team, don't be offering me your backups and bench fodder. You need to give something of significant quality.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

decided to cross my fingers and throw the offers out there, and see what happens.
so far the McCoy declined. also gave him the same deal with JStew instead of Beanie. also declined.

waiting to hear from the Foster and Rice owners.

will post results as they arrive.

Any luck? I'm in a similar dilemma where I'm targeting Shady...

Thinking of offering Forte and Steve Smith for McCoy (and maybe a pick back)... Too much? Worth the deal?

Thought I would put this out there, seeing that you have Forte as well...

Forte and Smitty aren't enough to get McCoy even without a pick back.

To get top 3 RB you're going to have to overpay.

Think of what you'd first want to offer. Then add a lot more. That's what it'll take to get an elite.

A top 3 rb is fantasy big game hunting and I think you will find those animals very hard to get in your sight unless you are offering your best players.
