Chicago trades 1st overall pick to Carolina for 4 picks + player

So, the Bears clearly got an absolute haul. Additionally the Panthers 2024 1st next year will most likely be top 5. Would be crazy if it’s #1 & the Bears trade out of CW.

As per DJ Moore, his value has got to be boosted here. The Bears will build around him and DJM is a fantastic start. They are in a great position to draft a top OT (or DE) and add in FA. The Bears will have a massive bump in offensive production meaning DJM is due for a bump, in my opinion.

Carolina was pretty close to a middle of the road team this year and the rookie QB is unlikely to make them worse. Not sure why people are pencilling them in for a top five pick. Certainly that could happen, but their schedule should be on the easier side of things as New Orleans, Tampa and Atlanta aren’t exactly powerhouses. Losing Moore should hurt, but it’s not like they were able to effectively use him anyway. I also don’t think he fits Reich’s system particularly well. Shenault may have some promise and maybe Marshall will be alright in the slot. Probably need another guy as well, but I don’t think it will need to be a top tier guy. I think this might be surprisingly good news for Ian Thomas. He’s athletic enough to be an effective receiver, but has never really been given a system that would utilize him that way.

On the Bears end, it would be pretty funny if this noise around Carter causes him to slip to them even with the big move down.

I feel like Indy almost has to move up and it might be costly. It seems pretty clear that the Bears weren’t bluffing when they said they had multiple offers with what they got from Carolina. I would think some of those other teams are going to be calling Arizona and one of them will make the move. Arizona might be able to move back again from there, too.

Will be interesting for sure. To be fair though, all these teams probably have different rankings. If they get the 4th QB drafted, he may be higher on their board. I’m sure they’ll even say they had him #1 lol
