Re: Tony Pollard
Yeah I have had him since his rookie draft in every single league I am in. I was always a true believer, and I'm not inclined to sell. But I would feel too bold asking for more than a mid 1st if I were looking to. The way I work is I would ask for a later 1st + a guy like Khalil Herbert. But again, I don't think I want to sell my guy Pollard. Hes a feel good story IRL and on my rosters.Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 1:31 pmOn a contender I could definitely see paying that, don't know for sure if it'd get him though and I don't think Id to higher
Re: Tony Pollard
I think that's fair. I don't think I'd ever get a mid 1st for him. Feels like if I got that offer, I'd almost be forced to sell him hahadondickenson wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 1:50 pmYeah I have had him since his rookie draft in every single league I am in. Re: Tony Pollard
Buying or selling Pollard is very team specific. If you have a legit title shot, especially in a money league, no way that owner is selling unless his depth is great or he gets an in kind asset in return.
If you are rebuilding and are a few years out he is a great sell to a contending team.
Pollard is like a lot of very good players in their mid 20's.

Re: Tony Pollard
Mid 1st seems like fair value, and a good sell point, but I wouldn’t pay that, and I have a mid 1st, and I really need rbs. I echo that he’s a hold, I just don’t think people are gonna pay mid 23 1sts for him

Re: Tony Pollard
I drafted pollard and would have. Hard time selling him now drafted with a 4th and he just came off a heck of a season . I wouldn’t sell for mid first with my team and coming off a championship . Only if it was a top 3/4 pick and not sure any team would give that up since he is middle age for a rb

Re: Tony Pollard
If he returns to full strength from the injury and gets the FT I think he will have a better season than last year. And Dallas really needs to surround Dak with playmakers so I don't see him going anywhere.
KTC has him valued between a 2023 1.11 and 1.12
Seems about right but a little rich given the injury.

I agree. I like him a lot. Weird. 11/12 seems LOW to me as a Pollard owner, but I'd offer that to get him LOL.TheHipHopOpotamus wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 12:31 am If he returns to full strength from the injury and gets the FT I think he will have a better season than last year. Re: Tony Pollard
Same. Though this could, and likely will, change after combine and especially landing spots; as a playoff shoe-in I would not trade away Pollard for anything outside 1.4 this year. I could see this going to 1.5/1.6 with some good landing spots for some RBs I'm similarly high on. But right now outside Bijan, Gibbs, JSN, and Addison; I'd have Pollard ahead of the rest.wickerkat1212 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 8:33 amI agree. I like him a lot. Re: Tony Pollard
Tony Pollard remains an option
Tony Pollard - RB, DAL
Tony Pollard remains a lead-back option for the Cowboys in 2023
Dynasty Analysis
The Cowboys have a decision to make and it's not an easy one. Pollard graded well in nearly all metrics in 2022 and is deserving of a lead role while the team's long-term starter, Ezekiel Elliott has now reached the point where his cost eclipses his production. The team could choose to release Elliott as a post-June cut to save nearly $11M but Jerry Jones seems reluctant. The Cowboys could also apply the franchise tag to Pollard and kick the can down the road. Additionally, the team remains continually linked to rookie phenom Bijan Robinson in the NFL Draft should the team elect to let Pollard walk and retain Elliott, a move which would leave Malik Davis as the projected third-down back. Pollard turns 26 in April and is a fair bet to remain in Dallas for at least one more season. He's listed as DLF's RB15.

Re: Tony Pollard
If Dallas franchise tags Pollard they would be *the #1* team in the NFL in RB spending. That is not a position any smart team wants to be in.
Personally I think Schultz is getting the tag. TE is a position that takes time to develop, while they've had some flashes with their young TEs there now, Schultz is a proven weapon in the RZ and is far ahead of the other TEs on the roster. I would prefer to keep him over Pollard just on the value of the position to this team specifically.
Given that they need to lower RB spending, and the need to keep Schultz on the tag and avoid paying Pollard, I am starting to think Dallas drafting Bijan isn't as far fetched as it seems...
Pollard may at the very least be hitting the Free Agent market and seeing his market price.
If he decides to take a team friendly contract like Gallup then I could see him staying. If he decides to max out his contract then I could also see him going.
Ideally for me, Dallas cuts Zeke and eats the cap this year, let's Pollard walk, tags Schultz and drafts Bijan in the 1st round. Screw it. Dak needs his deficiencies covered up with a good run game. Bijan would wreck house in this offense and keep the defense fresh.
