I would rather have Herbert for the retool build and long term. Wilson helps more now for the all in team.

Is Herbert set to take over Bears backfield next year?

Is he a good blocker?

Does the coaching staff even like him?

Have now also been offered a '24 2nd for Jeff Wilson?

Which side would benefit more from that?

I own both and Wilson is just about unmovable. Nobody is willing to give up enough to justify losing his production this year. I’m keeping him every format. I plan to unload Herbert to the Montgomery owner over the offseason.

If you're not a contender and/or not starting Wilson and don't plan to start him, make the trade. No one is going to give up a 1st for Wilson, so if a 2nd is on the table and you don't need him, then you might as well take the 2nd.

But, if I'm a contender and I don't have 4RBs doing better than Wilson has the past 2 weeks, I'm holding Wilson to boost my 2022 chances. Title run chances are hard to come by, and Wilson has the look of a player that could boost a very good team over the top if your RB2 spot is shaky.

Wilson for a playoff team. The 2nd for rebuilder. Herbert was a nice story, but his season is done and who knows what 2023 looks like. I'm not sold on him being a starter any more than Wilson will be in Miami.

man im lost on why people dont like herbert or think hes not worth much, dude is a beast. hes absurdly cheap and under contract 2 more years. hes only fallen under 5 yards per carry in 3 of his 10 games this year, thats top level production. hes up there with all the elite backs in terms of his ypc, and it hasnt been fluky or elevated by one or two blow up games.

pollard at 118 carries is hittin 5.9, hall 80 carries 5.8, ETN 131 carries 5.5, Aaron Jones 143 carries 5.4, jeff wilson 118 carries 5.4 average, chubb 174 for 5.3, cook 156 for 5.1, jacobs 183 for 5.1. Herbert is above all of them at 6.0 ypc on 118 carries.

what incentive do the bears have to move on from him or not try to feature him for the next 2 years?

I really like Herbert. But Wilson looks like a RB2 RIGHT NOW. And honestly, he’s been good long enough to wonder if he will be a RB2 next year. That’s really what you are hoping to get from Herbert.

he could be an rb2 just ros though as hes an ufa at year end and backs that perform well usually are looking to get their 1 payday. herbert being under control thru 2024 is appealing to me based on what ive seen from him id say hes a near lock to be lead back for the bears. watch bears sign wilson this offseason lol
