2023 Quarterbacks

Postby wickerkat1212 » Fri Nov 18, 2022 8:32 am

I know it's early, and it will depend on where they land, but what quarterbacks do you like in the next draft? Is it a good class?

I have a list that is something like:

1. CJ Stroud Ohio State
2. Bryce Young Alabama
3. Will Levis Kentucky
4. Hendon Hooker Tennessee
5. Tanner McKee Stanford
6. Anthony Richardson Florida

Thoughts?

I may have to get a quarterback in a few leagues—standard as well as superflex.

Who is elite and who should I watch while there are still some games left?

The only potential elite guys I see are Stroud and Bryce. I think both will end up being good pro quarterbacks.

It’s a sizable gap after those two imo. I know Levis still has his believers but I just personally haven’t seen nearly enough from him. Anthony Richardson is a freak athletically but he has a long ways to go as a passer. But if he were to put it together he has a sky-high ceiling. There’s a chance he doesn’t even declare this year, but I have a feeling he will.

Hooker is fine. He doesn’t excite me a great deal, but if he gets the draft capital and goes to a decent spot I could see him being serviceable.

Justin Fields sucks as a passer but has proven once again that running QBs hold incredible value in fantasy. I’ll get Richardson in the 2nd if he comes out

He didn't suck in college though. Richardson is the next Trey Lance gamble

Agreed. Not to say he couldn't master a new system, but the Art Briles/Baylor offense they run doesn't seem to translate well for WRs or QBs.

This. I will not have Richardson on any of my teams - just do not see it happening when he has such bad passing stats in college.

Except even Lance showed more as a passer and didn’t turn the ball over like Richardson has.

As for Fields, he was very accurate in college. Now his issue is seeing NFL open vs OSU open (and a lack of talent at WR).

Richardson is no Hurts either. Certainly not Lamar. He needs to go back to school and get more polished passing. If he comes out now I don’t think things will go well (if they ever would).

I have a feeling the Josh Allen effect is gonna burn some teams badly (Levis and Richardson). No one saw it coming and some things miraculously broke his way. But even as I type this (not to say he’s a bad player) he currently leads the league in interceptions and I think PFF’s turnover worthy plays.

It's a two QB draft IMO. Young is first for me because of how he's keeping the least talented Bama team in a decade around in these games. It's been impressive. Then I put Stroud at 2.

After that I'm not sure there's anyone worth your time in 1QB and only a handful of guys I'd risk it for in SF.

Maye could end up being the QB1. Kids a stud.
