My take is you really sound more and more like a get off my lawn type with each passing day. :silent:

Chris Carter who likes Gabe Davis most likely would question your takes on rookie WR's not drafted in round 1. Carter who had 5 catches as rookie and didn't hit a 1000 yard season until year 7 on his way to the HOF probably understands players like Watson will develop over time.

Like Davis, I expect you to be wrong on Watson but time will tell and that time is certainly longer than 5 games given injuries. Nothing wrong with an early call but I just can't get behind that call so early at all.

SO

Get off my Lawn types doing get off my Lawn type things seem appropriate based on perspective.

Just kidding of course but really wanted to get in Davis Dig and you made it easy!
Surely you could have thought of a more recent example than 1985. Might as well talk about a different sport altogether

And until Gabe Davis earns at least 16-18% target shares consistently he isn’t sustaining bleep

Target Share hahahaha: It's more fun knowing he would be WR1 on KC YTD by a lot!

Feel a major beat down coming for KC.

Well he wouldnt. No WR1 earns 4 targets a game not even on a team with Kelce

I think we lose. But like your boy found out last year: doesn’t matter if you get pantsed in January

3 TD’s today

I get his haters are gonna hate but he has rare tools and he is learning.

Hey DLF

Meet the future at WR for GB.

Nice to see some of that upside we knew he had. Hopefully, he gets/stays healthy and continues to improve. Hes got some tools.

If 1 game was how we judged him, this thread would be closed. Players always have ceilings, and can hit them. Will he ever be consistent? We don't know, but the victory lapping is entertaining, that's for sure. I have no care one way of the other, but I think it's obviously great for those who are invested, but I'd say let's not over react to 1 game, 1 scheme etc.

I mean the above poster certainly hopes the "bright future ahead" is real. He rosters him. It could also be a career of injuries, and big games with a bunch of duds. Let's be objective. Ceiling was always there. Certainly more hope now, whereas before there was not much, but let's not get the Canton bust ready just yet.

I've seen as much push back on rookies who have done more than Watson to this date than this after one game. I remember when CEH had some big games, and now...... It's a rollercoaster, this game. Don't assume it's all roses now for Watson.

Time will tell, but finally a sign of life.

More of a "Reasonable Reginald" imo

But great that Watson did some things! This will go a long way to justifying the Packers spending 2x 2nd round picks on him / Dynasty managers drafting him over players like Jahan Dotson, George Pickens, and Alec Pierce

Depending on what you paid, that can be a decent return if he's your WR3 or a flex.

The real point is how many never gave this rookie a chance because he didn't have some nebulous fit into a breakout age box because he was a very late bloomer physically and went to a small school that ran the ball the vast majority of the time.

Good for Watson to throw egg on the face of ill informed thinking they know so much more than the Packers who actually moved up to select the future at WR for their team.

Watson now has overcome injuries to lead all rookie WR's in total TD's I believe. 3 today and a rushing TD a few week back.

His tools were obvious to any discerning eye entering the league and were on full display today against a very good defense.

This kid has star power.....but then again the Haters are going to hate for a while until he pushes them into the shadows much like late bloomers have a tendency to do. Josh Allen comes to mind at QB if you need another example.

Watson has the tools to be a mega star once he learns the game. It is so obvious the light has come on.

Say it's one game if you like but this was his Breakout Game in the NFL. What's his NFL Breakout age..... I am guessing 23

I don't get the "haters are going to hate" stuff. It's cliche and inaccurate. Look, he's an older prospect with warts. He always, always had the upside for games like this. If he's a top WR like you claimed he was pre-draft, great. I don't care, I never drafted him, or wanted to, didn't really have the opportunity to pass on him, didn't have any picks.

The tools are still the tools. It's still the same argument. He's shown what the naysayers have said for his entire career, except for today, where he showed what his "truthers" think he is. The reality is, it could be one or the other, or likelier, somewhere in between. It's an emotional response by those who have been seeing the comments for the entire year on the kid, and I get it. Let's not get carried away.

We even comparing WRs to Josh Allen now boys!

(I don’t really disagree with you. I don’t have a dog in this fight, not even a fan of the Packers anymore. But don’t do this…)
