Re: James Cook
I think he'll be fine long-term. Moss got 8 targets as the receiving back, and he's not much of an obstacle to overcome. This offense is perfect for Cook's strengths.
I just don't see him being used in Singletary's role. Singletary is small, but is built really well for his size. Cook, much more rail thin. I think as long as Cook is in the NFL, he's always going to have a stronger or bigger back in front of him. I think he's going to be great for PPR, but bad for standard leagues.

If he doesnt bulk up asap kid will be replacing drywall in a few years. Hes too small. Going to get beat up on an nfl field. The only notable running back in the recent NFL with a similar BMI is Kenyan drake. Dudes a stick.
Re: James Cook
I’m completely with you. People are down on Pierce for being a 4th round pick with limited college production. I’ve seen guys like that succeed. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a RB as small as Cook succeed. He’s a decent athlete, but not a special one. He may be a decent receiver on a good team, but how could ge possibly contribute in pass pro? Good chance he’s a role player/novelty that will have occasion good games because any one the Bills could have a good game.MFundercover wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:10 am If he doesnt bulk up asap kid will be replacing drywall in a few years. Re: James Cook
People are beating up on Pierce as a top five selection. I don’t think many people are suggesting taking Cook in the top five. If you take him in the 1.08-1.12 range (where Cook also makes sense), I don’t think you’re getting the same level of opposition.j4pac wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:15 amI’m completely with you. Exactly. No one is down on Pierce. This is a narrative created by owners who believe Pierce should be a top 3-5 rookie pick. Those owners imply many of us want Pierce to fail. This is just a concocted stories like all news these days meant to divide people in general.ericanadian wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:46 amPeople are beating up on Pierce as a top five selection. No one has a vendetta against Pierce. It’s not personal. In fact 99% of owners are rooting for Pierce to succeed. Anyone “down” on Pierce is just talking probabilities, not emotional desire to see him fail. Im not”down” on Jameson because I drafted Drake first. Im not “down” on Olave because I think Breece is the 1.01. It’s just a probabilities game(with a little dab of speculation on top)
I doubt many are saying to wait for Pierce until the 1.10 are also advocating to run out and grab Cook at the 1.05 either. Both players have major question marks for different reasons.
I don’t own Cook but I wouldn’t be too concerned long term. If this was NE and a rookie was benched after a fumble it wouldn’t be surprising. Not surprised another coach would take the same philosophy.
All that said I always think Singletary is underrated and should be the lead back in this offense. I guess he is always getting injured? He seems much better than the alternatives to me.
Moss looks like a poor man’s CEH on a high powered offense.(edit-I don’t mean stylistically. I mean they are both on a high powered offense and make the field look crowded and can’t seem to pick up yards) Not worried about his talent getting in the way of Cook. Cook may not be cut out for the nfl but it’s not Moss that will be stopping him.

Re: James Cook
Cook had one carry and blew it; I guess it is time to kick him out of the league and write him off as a bust.
In all seriousness, Buffalo is a very good team. Cook is going to have to pay his dues. He will get bigger and stronger. Pretty much every single player seems to add some muscle mass as they mature in the NFL. The biggest issue with Bills RB's continues to be that monster at QB. Von Miller looks small next to him so I get Cook looking tiny; he really did next to a QB that is one large human.

If Cook wasn’t drafted in the 2nd round…by the Bills…with the last name Cook…his comp would be McCluster or McFarland.

Re: James Cook
A lot of similarities. Cook is bigger and faster, but McCluster had better college production. McCluster might've been pretty decent if he wound up in an offense like this. Hell, Isaiah McKenzie looks like a guy in this offense.

Re: James Cook
It's not looking good for this guy. 23 touches through 6 games, and only 4 receptions. He's going to be 24 next year. I am just not sure what his FF relevance is, if any. Singletary is looking good enough, and they trust him. Allen isn't going to turn into a check down machine, and will James Cook ever be much of a pass blocker, to be a 3rd down back? It's early, but clearly Hall, Walker, and Pierce to a slightly lesser extend due to team investment are the clear winners of this class, in terms of RB picks.
