If Gesicki fails in his efforts to transition to a true in line TE, is there someone on the roster who could flourish in the offense like Kittle? Is either Hunter Long or Durham Smythe a good stash gamble?

They're stash candidates... Wouldn't call them good ones. Mike Gesicki needs a new team next year. He's the guy I'm targeting in rebuilds if the value is there.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 4:10 am If Gesicki fails in his efforts to transition to a true in line TE, is there someone on the roster who could flourish in the offense like Kittle? Depending how deep your league is, I like Hunter Long as a stash candidate.

Also keep an eye on the Rams backfield situation. Kyren Williams missed time and the first PS game with injury, but when he came back, being medically cleared, the team still held him out of any PS games because they already consider him a lock for the roster and potential key contributor this season. That's rather unusual treatment for a 5th round rookie.

Re: End of bench stashes/sleepers both rookies, up and comers and vets
Tanner Conner is probably the only one worth stashing. I was disappointed he did not go on IR because he's hard to stash on an active bench spot. But I think he's the long term gesicki replacement if there is one.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 4:10 am If Gesicki fails in his efforts to transition to a true in line TE, is there someone on the roster who could flourish in the offense like Kittle? ETA: 6'3 232 college WR from Idaho St.
Pro day 40 ranged from 4.37 to 4.5, with 39.5 vertical. Purely a stash for 2023 in deeper leagues imo.

Miami has a number of interesting stashes. How good is Conner at blocking? Can't imagine it's too good as a college WR.ColdZealDonkeyStrike wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 1:50 pmTanner Conner is probably the only one worth stashing. Re: End of bench stashes/sleepers both rookies, up and comers and vets
232 is not a good weight threshhold for TE. Neither is 6'3" height .... 6'4/245+ and athletic AF is kind of minimum starting point when mining TEs. 6'5" 250/255 is ideal. He's got the metrics, but that's only because he's a WR.ColdZealDonkeyStrike wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 1:50 pmTanner Conner is probably the only one worth stashing. My favorite Miami stash right now is Ezukanma. He's looked great in preseason games, and has gotten a lot of praise from the staff. Probably going to be hard for anyone to get much attention behind Waddle and Tyreek, but Ezukanma I think would be the first to benefit if either get injured. Solid size/speed guy, and most of his deficiencies are coachable (route running).

If you are specifically looking for a TE stash I like Jake Ferguson in Dallas. He's behind Schultz, but stepping into Darwin's role from last season which should actually see him on the field quite a bit even as a backup for how much the Cowboys like running 12 personnel. The team has lost some playmakers, so there is a gap he could step into and fill, and Schultz is on a 1 year deal. If he shows well enough, he could be stepping into the starting position as soon as 2023 (and for 1/10th of the cost of Schultz).
Re: End of bench stashes/sleepers both rookies, up and comers and vets
I just finished up a 30 round best ball dynasty startup. No kickers or DSTs. Our draft went deeeeep. After most of the above-mentioned players were long gone, my on-the-fly research gave me a few more sleepers for rounds 29 & 30:
Tim Jones, WR Jacksonville: His preseason play looked good enough to push Treadwell & Shenault off the team. For now he is stuck behind Kirk, Marvin Jones, and Zay Jones. But how do you feel about that trio?
Antonio Williams, RB Giants: He also looked good during preseason. Will he leapfrog Breida to be the backup for Saquon? Surprisingly, through 29 rounds of drafting, Saquon was the only Giants RB that was drafted in our league. Every other NFL team had multiple RBs drafted. At the end of my bench, I'll take a chance on this one.

Re: End of bench stashes/sleepers both rookies, up and comers and vets
Jared Bernhardt is a player I picked up for nothing in most of my leagues.
-Won the lacrosse Heisman
-Transferred to Ferris State and won a D2 National Title as a triple option QB
-Got invitation to Falcons as a WR, where he was a long shot to make it and against all odds made it
-Dad was NFL coach
Seems like he has success at everything he does. He'll probably be nothing. But the WR room is open in Atlanta and he's shifty and decently athletic. Listening to the coaches talk about him they bring up his ability to learn quickly. He's the kind of random player I like on the end of my bench because his cost is nothing. Easy to drop if he doesn't pan out too.
