Brian Robinson just got put on the block. Asking price is a '23 2nd
I've got a team that might be able to compete in year 1, but needs RBs & flex options since we have to start 4 WRT
Pull the trigger or find a better option?
Here's my team:
12tm PPR SuperFlex - Start: 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 4FLX, 1SF
QB: Dak, Cousins, Tua, Baker, Winston
RB: Jacobs, CEH, Stevenson, McKissic, Gus, Mostert, McFarland
WR: Chase, DJM, Waddle, Meyers, Landry, OBJ
TE: Gesicki, Okwuegbunam, Woods
Quick trade advice
Re: Quick trade advice
worth it IMO but I don't see your team being a contender unless you move a QB for a RB or RB/TE combo

he is definitely trending upward. if you think that continues that price will only get higher. but as of today he is a mid 2nd in 2022 so sending a 23 2nd might be seen as a slight overpay based on the expected depth of the 23 class.

Re: Quick trade advice
Worth it on value regardless of my contender-status, you think?
And I agree, a QB trade is highly likely soon (or at some point). I didn't love the way the draft fell so I just started grabbing QBs that dropped to me, taking the bet that eventually someone will realize how light they are at the position

Re: Quick trade advice
Yeah I just figure even in a good class, he's in the exact situation you're hoping for on a 2nd round dart throw. It surprises me that the asking price is only a 2nd (maybe it's because this guy drafted him so late in the startup that it'd still be a profit). I saw a trade database this morning and there are very few B-Rob trades that are him for a 2nd swap (most are paying more)BigBawseRoss wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:18 am he is definitely trending upward. if you think that continues that price will only get higher. but as of today he is a mid 2nd in 2022 so sending a 23 2nd might be seen as a slight overpay based on the expected depth of the 23 class.
Re: Quick trade advice
It's a fair price to pay for him with all of the training camp news surrounding him and Gibson. Looking at your roster your wr's and qb's are your strength, but I don't think your rb's or te's are very good at all. I may hold the 2nd for now, if your team does start out hot then use your qb depth to add a piece. If your team isn't doing well I'd want that 2nd in a deeper 2023 class.

Re: Quick trade advice
Robinson is not that thrilling of a prospect. No receiving chops and will be in a RBBC. The offer is about right (currently). I dont think his value will ever be higher, so there is that to keep in mind when drafting him and its just the preseason. It's still Gibsons job and he performed well enough to keep it in real games.
I think its a fair offer, but I would rather keep my 2023 second or wait to trade for him later in the year when I know I am in contention. Like I said, his ceiling is a RB2, so his value will never go much higher than it is right now based on prospect evaluations.

Re: Quick trade advice
If the 2nd looks late, I think the value is here. If he ends up getting more work than expected, his value will go up. I took Robinson with the 2.09 in my rookie draft which I am thrilled about right now. If your pick is likely in that range next year, I see no issue with the deal at all. How often do you land a usable RB in the late 2nd?
Re: Quick trade advice
It’s been my experience that this takes an entire season, unfortunately. Each other owner had an opportunity to take these QBs during the startup, but they kept falling to you. Some guys have to struggle through a season competing without QBs to realize their worth. If a few injuries happen early, you may get some bites, but they won’t want to pay the actual value.Prison_Mike wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:19 amWorth it on value regardless of my contender-status, you think?

I would wait to see how your team does before trading away future picks. There is usually an early waiver claim or two that surprises at RB. I’d go that route and let the realization sink in.
