This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Help

Postby Shankopotamus » Mon Aug 22, 2022 5:12 pm

Guy blew up his team and has a ton of picks, but very little talent. I happened to have his 2023 first, and it's likely the 1.01.

He's offered me Deshaun Watson for his pick. I'm a contender that's weak at QB in a SF league.

Should I pull the trigger?

No chance for me. No reason to take on Watson in general but certainly not for what will be an extremely valuable pick.

That 2023 pick will be way more valuable. I'd look for another qb or simply hold it and make the pick next year. I think Watson will get back into form, but it may not help this year. He is also a big risk if he screws up in any way he could be suspended for life, or another full year. I'd ride with Baker this year and see how it goes, if not you have a top pick next year with several qb's coming out. Good luck.

The biggest advantage for a QB needy team to trading the 1.01 for a QB is to go all-in on 2022. However, since Watson cannot help you in 2022, there is almost no reason to make this deal now. Wait until after the season and it might make more sense to draft one of the two hot college QBs expected to be at the top of SF drafts.
