I just traded a 2nd round (should be late) pick for him.

I also have Moore and Green. This type of grouping is something I do a lot. I try to buy guys at their floors with the understanding that things can play out where someone really hits at value. In other words, I think someone in there is going to do really well. I’m just not sure who.

Hopkins is interesting. Def feels like narrative has flipped that not only is he old but hes in decline. Suspension ect

Just from a stats line in 2020 he was #2 in total targets, tied for 2nd in total receptions, 2nd in total receiving yards.

Playing in a dome, with a young QB, against in division teams like the Rams that also play in domes and can put up points.

Everyone wanted TDS.

Whether it was an Arizona offensive shift or Dhop 'decline or whatever' it seems his ADOT may have come down or at least they were in the redzone alot.

He had 8 on 63 targets. Or a TD every 7.5 targets. That's probably among the top rate of TDs per target among all WRs.

Now certainly some could say thats an outlier but Hopkins finishing among the top in WR efficiency metrics or total counting stats is something that has been happening for a long time.

I remember trying to time the decline of Larry Fitz and I sold him for Mike Floyd. I watched Floyd flame out and Fitz go on to be a PPR auto start for 3 more seasons.

I could see Dhop providing the same type of longterm sitch potentially.

Whether he is worth a 1st or whatever depends. I think right now its tough to get a late 1st for him.

Come mid season if some of these rookies arent really materializing and he steps back onto the field I could see that flip flopping.

As others have mentioned, this is not a realistic expectation. You have missed the time to get return value you will like. Your best bet is to hold and hope he comes back very strongly. You MIGHT be able to move him to a contender for a push, but that is your best bet. Otherwise he will retire on your roster.

Yup the realistic best case is to wait and hope he comes back strong to flip him then. While with your above I can see the bounce back as possible the issue I have is while there are outliers like Jordy and Fitz we've seen other great WRs just drop off the face of the planet around his age like Julio(older but closeish), Dez(younger), AJG, BMarsh

He seemed to have more injuries than usual last season. Never really looked right.

This season, the suspension hurts him and his trade value will never recover. So, if you're a non-contender, you should probably bail for whatever you can get. If you are a contender, then I would be a little hesitant. I'm not entirely convinced his production is cooked.

He was looking like a top 10 WR before the injuries, and he had always been an iron man before last season. If healthy he will probably produce after the suspension.

Hell never have much trade value but he can help you win.

Way too much. With the suspension there as well, a first may be tough to get.

The Cardinals are moving on already as Hopkins being a center piece. They gave a 1st round pick for the right to get M. Brown and a soon to be 20 plus million dollar contract for him. They will play out the string this season but he won't be on the Cardinals next season. They know the end is near.

The time to sell has long since past for a solid return. No chance I would pay much for Hopkins these days. He lost a step. Obviously a few will secure a 1st from the unsuspecting masses so maybe getting lucky is in the Cards.....Punn Intended. :D

I'm with bj. Feels like his stock is bottoming out rn, I'd sell to a contender once he's back and has drummed up more hype.

Quiet you two! Let us buy low while we can! I have a 2nd out for him (probably late) and it won't get any traction. Can't say I blame them. If he comes back with vengeance he could fetch a larger return, but a '23 1st worth has set sail.
