Should I pull a Ditka for Hall?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Should I pull a Ditka for Hall?

Postby Ruffians27 » Wed May 18, 2022 12:32 pm

Won the league last year even with the rough shape of my RB core. Im pretty deep at WR and would love to get someone to take one or two off my hands for the chance at a elite RB. Drafting this friday and I'm curious if people think I should try to pull off a Ditka/Williams type trade for Hall or a elite veteran RB, or sit back and see what falls to me at the end of the 1st and top of the 2nd rounds. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I was not following. I get it now...

I would think Metcalf +/Swift + would have to be the main piece or pieces around any deal to land Hall with his current value. Tough time to buy.

Sorry, maybe I'm aging myself a little by referencing that trade. Should I go all in and send the house to someone for one stud running back or see what I can get in the draft?

What's your idea of "all in?"

You could try sending something like DK and the 1.09 and 2.02. Then if needed bump the 2.02 to the 1.10 or one of your 23 1sts.
PW league - 10 tm Dynasty league-Roster/Keep 28 - Pass:1/20 3pt TD; Run/Rec:1/10 6pt TD; no ppr; no neg pts
st:1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, 1 k, 1 d, no flex
QB - TLaw, Tua, JimmyG
RB - Chubb, Javonte, Perine, Jaleel, BRob, Moss, Bigsby, RoJo (Chi), Tucker, C-Rod, Chase, Spiller, Zamir
WR - Addison, Godwin, Nico, Gabe, Zay Jones, Mooney, Hyatt, Tillman
TE - Kincaid, Kraft
PK -Tucker
Def - 49ers
Picks: 2024 - 1-7, add’l 3rd; 2025 - 1-7

E league - 14 team-can keep up to 9 but keeper round moves up 1 each year, no 1st or 2nd round players can be kept; number is parens = next year’s keeper round; * = player was kept for 2023
Pass 1/20, 4pt TD, Run/Rec 1/10, 6pt TD, 1ppr, Fum/Int = -1, other scoring is pretty regular
QB - Jimmy G(*16), Purdy(*9), Stafford(12)
RB - D-Mont, AJ Dillon, Lenny(17), Carter (19), D’Onta(9), P Taylor
WR - JJeff(3), Adams(*4), Godwin(*8), MWill(*5), OBJ(*13), Woods, Hyatt(10), Tillman(18)
TE - PatF(6), Mayer(10)
PK - Moody
Def - TBB

Well I know the post is about Hall, but I'd be interested in a younger veteran as well. I have the 1.09,1.10,2.02 and two 1st next years as well as plenty of depth at WR i Metcalf, Kupp, Diggs, Mclaurin, etc.
The guy who holds the 1.01 this year also has J. Jacobs, C. Akers, T. Etienne and N. Harris so he may be willing to part with somebody else as he is weak at WR.
Maybe a package based around Metcalf for Akers???

I don't think I'd sell the farm to get Hall unless it's simply 1.09/1.10 +. I'm definitely not selling one of the high end young WRs or a '23 1st. If you can make it work around those '22 picks and perhaps Bateman then sure.

If you’re trying to go all in to repeat this year, then sending DK plus for a rookie RB is not good process. What do we expect Hall to do this year, be a top 5 RB??

Go get Cook and Mattison for probably less. Or Zeke & Pollard definitely for less. Or Monty plus Herbert. Or Fournette for WAY less, etc

Hall is going to be more expensive than almost every single RB, and yet I don’t expect him to be a league winner in 2022.

kupp and chase have all time high values right now. you could probably package one of them with your 2 firsts and get the 1.1 and another rb, and your wr would not be hurt by the loss.
