Moving on up... from the basement!

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Moving on up... from the basement!

Postby Never Veto1 » Tue Apr 19, 2022 1:01 pm

12 Team PPR 22 Man Rosters -- Start QB (1), RB (2-4), WR (2-4), TE (1-2)

QB - Fields, Z.Wilson, Mills
RB - Evans, Foreman, Reynolds, Patterson (some real trash)
WR - Waddle, Smith, Ridley, Gallup, Osborn, M.Brown, Collins, Cephus, Edwards
TE - Smith Jr., Okwuegbunam, Parham
Picks - 1.01, 1.05, 1.06, 1.09, 2.01, 2.09

So I completely tore this team apart last year and it's obviously trash, we have limited roster space with 22. Now normally on a complete tear down more picks gives you more dart throws to help out, but my thought here is since we only have 22 spots available, would it be in the best interest of the team to consolidate some of these dart throws for a higher quality chance?

Not saying it would be accepted, but should I throw out a 1.09/2.01 and try get the 1.03 from another rebuilding team, albeit with fewer picks or should I keep as many picks as I have and jettison the trash on the team?
12 Team 1QB PPR
8 Starters - QB 1, RB 2(4), WR 3(5), TE 1(3)

QB - Kyler Murray, Derek Carr, Kenny Pickett
RB - Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Kyren Williams, Travis Etienne, James Conner, Antonio Gibson, Chris Rodriguez
WR - Tee Higgins, Jordan Addison, Michael Pittman, Nico Collins, Rashee Rice, Christian Watson, Jerry Jeudy, Rashod Bateman
TE - Sam Laporta, Kyle Pitts, Darren Waller, Isaiah Likely
Picks - 2.10, 3.10, 4.10, 5.10

I would see what the cost would be to consolidate now before the NFL draft and gauge value from there. This class is more top heavy, so earlier the better but price versus value is always a factor.

thats a lot of firsts in a perceived bad class. id try to turn some into 23 firsts.

probably take hall and then whatever wr you like at 5 and try to use 6 9 and 13 to get some 23 firsts. if possible
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

That's not even in the ballpark for the 1.03.
If your roster has a lot of trash on it, I don't see why you wouldn't hold and make your picks. Even from the players you listed, there are at least 3-5 easy cuts. If you can exchange for 2023 picks, by all means, try; but keep in mind that those are already hyped up to the moon and you may lose value in the process.

I think your offer for the 1.03 is way off.

Given the current situation of your team I'd be much more inclined to move the 1.01 for 1.03+. You need to hit those wrs this draft and hope to get some rbs in 2023 or some vet rbs.

I do like your thought process here. Would a 2023 1st be enough to move back the 2 spots? Keep in mind the other guy didn't earn the 1.03 we had a few teams do a dispersal.

His Team:
QB - Watson, Ryan
RB - J.Williams, Dobbins, Edmonds, Gainwell
WR - Higgins, Hopkins, Jeudy, DPJ
TE - Freiermuth, Kmet
12 Team 1QB PPR
8 Starters - QB 1, RB 2(4), WR 3(5), TE 1(3)

Sure if you can pull that off, but depending how much people like picks in your league. don’t think this has to be a full tear down anymore. Only starting 8 players, You may have enough capital to flip this to a contender if you can buy some of the “old” rbs on the cheap side (cook, Kamara, mixon, ekeler, barkley, or even the cheaper end conner, fournette level guys) from other teams that want to rebuild.

Best way to rebuild in my opinion is to gut team and get all this team capital then flip it. Drafting all the players is a long long road to contention.

If you can’t pull this off I’d definitely look to flip what I can to 2023 and get enough capital to have a great team in 2023. You don’t want to be rebuilding for 2024 here.
